Two Weeks Later

Mark
---
Something wasn't right with Sydney. Usually, when we're in Sydney, she's happy and excited to see all her favourite places and her old friends... but during these two weeks, she wasn't...

She was all mopey and sad... more like mopey and depressed. I knew she still loved him, and this holiday was not helping her.

Two days ago I asked Sean if he wanted to surprise Sydney and explain what happened that one day, can you guess what his answer was?

"Yeah! I love her more than youtube, I can't live without her!"

I was so close to saying 'that's cute!' or 'aww you're perfect for each other!'

He was like a brother to me, so he obviously knew what I was thinking, and said out of the ordinary, "Don't you dare," his voice threatened.
"Sean, trust me, that shit ain't gonna work on me."
"Okay, okay, I'm heading on the plane now, talk to you later."
"See ya," I said as he ended the call.

That conversation was from yesterday...

I just picked him up five minutes ago, and he was nervous. I told him there was nothing to be worried about.

"But what if she punches me?" Sean asked.
"Trust me! She loves you too much!" I answered. "She doesn't punch anyone... unless she feels like it."
"That's not helping."
"You're right... but she won't punch you. Just trust me."
"Fine, I trust you."

Sydney was in her room, being depressed and shit. I walked into her room after Jack went into his (thank god this apartment has 3 rooms).

"Sydney?"
"I want Jack..." she said straight away, sounding like she was crying.
"Sydney, I know you miss him, but he's coming tomorrow-"
"I WANT HIM NOW! YOU NEVER GIVE ME WHAT I WANT NOW!" She ran to the balcony, crying.

It indicated Sean that he had to talk to her NOW. He asked me if he should.

"Should I go check on her?"
"Yeah, she'll only listen to you. She won't listen to me unless it's about you."
"Okay... wish me luck..." he said nervously.
"Good luck, bro."

Sydney
-----
It's not fair.

It's not fair, I didn't give him a chance to explain... this holiday didn't help whatsoever. I needed Sean. More than ever.

I heard the door slide open, and I knew it had to be Mark. "Go away, Mark..." I was crying.
"Oh, you want me to go away? Okay-" said a voice that didn't sound anything like Mark's... but Sean's... he sat next to me.
I looked at him, and realised it was Sean. "Sean..." I cried, happy to see him.
"Hey, Alexigirl..." I hugged him, after a while he hugged back. "I'm sorry you saw me kiss Signe, I promise you that wasn't me, and I didn't let him... I tried to stop him, but he was too strong."
I smiled, "I knew you wouldn't do that to me." I kissed his cheek.

He was surprised I didn't kiss his lips, so he stood up, helped me up, then kissed me.

Mark smiled through the window when we stopped. We both looked at him.

"How long have you been planning this?"
"Two days, it was Mark's idea. You're lucky to have him as a brother."
"I am..." then I had a thought come into my head. "Mark's been telling me about a girl... she looks like she could be your sister."
"Did he say her name?"
"Kayla."

His eyes widened; was he scared?

"Sean, are you okay?"
"Kayla. Is. The worst." He has fear in his eyes
"What did she do?"
"She's a bitch. She blamed everything on me when we were younger."
"Have you spoken to her lately?"
"Yeah, and she really likes Mark... like, really love him."
"She talks about him a lot?"
"Yep."
"Same here. Mark always, and I mean always talks about her."
"Wait, did they meet?"
"Yeah, just after we arrived here..." then he realised something. "Holy shit..."
"Mark might've broken up with Amy the day we arrived here."
"And Kayla broke up with her boyfriend because he cheated on her... Wouldn't that make us...?"
"No! It's only that if we're half or step siblings! Not in-laws!"
He sighed in relief. "Thank god."
"I wouldn't want to be siblings with someone I love more than a friend, and more than a sibling."

I quickly kissed him on the lips.

"Since we're leaving Sydney soon, do you wanna go meet my parents in Ireland in two weeks?" Sean asked.
"Yeah, of course!" I answered cheerfully.
"They're really excited to meet you..." he said, nervously.
"They're gonna embarrass you, aren't they?"
"Yep."
"Let's just stay outside then! They can't embarrass you if you're outside."
"That's not how my parents work. They'll literally try and force you to listen to the most embarrassing shit that happened to me."
"I'll ignore all of it."
"You're that good at ignoring?"
"I do it to mark all the time. I could teach you, if you want?"
"That would be amazing."

So I taught Sean how to be good at ignoring without anyone realising it.

After about two days, Sean was a master at it. He promised he'd only use it on his parents, and sometimes Mark... depends what's he's talking about.

"Sean, I know you don't like talking about anything to do with business, but please, promise me you will, just this one time."
"No, I'm not talking business with your brother!"
"You can use the ignorance trick I taught youuuuu..."
"Sold!"

Me/Author: .................. that wasn't on the script.

Sean: You're right. I'm sorry. I should've said Deal! ...... Hang on... *checks script* yeah I should've said Deal!

Me/Author: FROM THE TOP!

"Deal!" He hugged me.
"Remember, if you show ignorance to him that only I see, I'll take you to Lunar Park before we leave."
"You come up with the best prices, Syd... it suits you!"
"I was literally gonna hit you if you said it fucks me up in the head."
"You're always fucked in the brain, but I still love you." He kissed my forehead as I blushed.
"Thanks, Jackaboy, you're the only one who understands me."

My brother walked in and said, "Now, let's talk business."
I rolled my eyes, "Mr Business Bank, sir."
After about half an hour wasted on ignoring Mr Business Bank. "And that's how you grow a business."
"That's a very good speech," Sean said as if he listened to the whole thing."
"Thanks, Sean, you should come join me for a business convention!"
"Oh, no, thanks. I realised Business wasn't for me."
I smiled at him, "I don't want to go to a different school and leave Sydney with you, Amy, Felix and Abby. She'll be lonely by the time you get to the car."
"Oh, the things you do for her."
"Shut up."
"No, it's normal! I support you and Sydney! I'll just leave before I make this more embarrassing than it already is."
"We're gonna head straight to Ireland. We'll be back in a week."

We said our goodbyes, got in the car, arrived at the airport, and got on the plane to Ireland.
