The line seemed endless. It streched all the way from the stations, to the town square. I was lucky to be one of the older 17 year olds. I could actually see the transportation docks. I could, also, see the stage. The stage, in which, our mayor was giving a speech. Although, I couldn't understand a word of what she was saying, I knew it had to be boring. It was probably about the importance of our memories.
I was glad to share my birthday with Vega. That meant that we got to stand together in line, and every other activities and events the Community planned for us. She seemed to be the only one who understood me.
An extremely loud sound awoke me from my thoughts. One of the transporters must have been malfunctioning, because some of the Community member were calling the mechanics towards it.
I took a deep breath, and grasped my journals. I didn't want Vega to know how nervous I was. There were just so many things that could go wrong. I also didn't want her to see what I had written in my journals. She was the thing that I needed to remember, even if I forgot.
"Attention, Everyone. One of our transporters have malfuntioned," the mayor said, "However, we are proceding with the transport." Most people groaned, because the wait would be longer. I groaned out of nervousness. And Vega, stayed silent.
Everything was normal.
