The One I Hate[BWWM]

Chapter 1.

Silene POV

The bell rang signalling the end of the school day.

I sigh from relief as I pack my bag. Maths last period has always been the worst.

As I walk to my brother's car I happen to bump into someone. "Watch where you are going!" retorts the person. When I look up my eyes meet the eyes of Lyra Wools. The girl who has hated me ever since her boyfriend dumped her so he could ask me out. Ever since that day Lyra has made it her life mission to make my life miserable but unfortunately for her, she has never succeeded. I never give her the satisfaction of ruining me instead I just ignore her.

"Oh. Its you, the boyfriend stealer."

"How many times must I tell you Lyra? I never stole your boyfriend he came to me and I already told you that I have declined his offer."

"It does not matter. He left me for you. That is what I will never forget."

"Suit yourself then." If this girl won't let go of grudges then thats her problem. So I turn to walk away but she grabs my arm.

"Mark my words, Silene. You shall regret the day you stole my boyfriend."

She was starting to get on my nerves. I understand the fact that she is upset about her boyfriend leaving her but she doesn't have to blame me entirely for it. She has to remember that her boyfriend is the one that left her.

So today I finally decide it is time to put some sense into this girl.

Now I am the one to grab her arm. "Listen here and you listen good. I have tolerated your nonsense long enough. You have to understand that it's not my fault your boyfriend left you...even though I don't blame him but the point is what happened happened so...let it go." with that I walked away.

Once I reached my brother's car I realised he was not there so I wait for him.

Today was once again an average day for me. Another day of dealing with Lyra and this school. My life is uneventful. Nothing interesting ever happens. I feel like it is the same routine every day that is why I have become dull myself. When it comes to my brother Orion it is a whole different story. He is filled with life and energy. He lives life to the fullest always trying new things and having a blast while I am at home either reading or doing chores. But I guess I kind of like it this way because I don't need to stress about anything.

For what seems like forever Orion finally pitches up.

"Where were you?" I asked kind of annoyed. The thing about me is I tend to get irritated by the smallest things. It could be the reason why I am so closed off.

"Got held up by the chess club. Can you believe they voted for me to become president. How cool is that?"

"Yeah yeah that great. Now let's get a move on." gesturing to the car. He hasn't unlocked it yet.

"Oh sorry. Let me get that." he opens the car door for me like the gentleman father has taught him to be. I mentally roll my eyes but get in netherless. Orion is a good boy and I like that about him but he needs to toughen up otherwise people will take advantage of him.

"You know Orion, I can always open the car door for myself." I say to him once he got in.

"I know but I prefer to be a gentleman. Always wins the ladies hearts." and he casts a wink my direction.

I snort.

Nowadays it won't.

Girls these days are all about bad boys. The good guys always end up being friend zoned.

The car ride home was then slient which of course didn't last long once we reached home. At home we are seven including my parents. We are five children me and Orion being the first born twins. Then came Riguel who is in seventh grade, Alicia who is in fifth grade and Zoe and Zac who are the last pair of twins which are in third grade. There is never slience at home especially when the twins are there but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Once we entered the house I got attacked with a hug from Alicia. I have always been her favourite.

"Hey Silene how was your day?"

"Same as always and you?"

"It was great! Ryan finally asked me out."

You must be wondering who is Ryan? Well lets just it was Alicia's crush ever since I could remember and I guess he finally ask her out.

Orion beside me tensed up upon hearing what she said.

"Congrats Alicia. Now... when do I get to to meet this young boy?" his protective side kick in.

"How about...Never! The boys in this family are so protective, it's crazy!"

"Hey! It is what we are made for. Am I right? Orion." Riguel said from the couch. He was watching 'Keeping up with the Kardashiens' He is so obsessed with the show. He says the only reason he watches it is because of Kylie Jenner. I always roll my eyes when he says that.

"Guys give her a break. I have met Ryan and he is a nice kid." I say trying to help Alicia.

"But I want to meet him myself. I want to discuss...important matters with him only men would understand." says Orion smugly. I snort.

"No you will scare him away." pleaded Alicia.

"From what I heard, they say he is a player." says Riguel with a hint of mischief in his voice. Riguel is always looking for trouble and I think he is about to get that.

"What!! Then there is no way are you dating him." says Orion sternly.

"But...but you can't do that. Your not the boss of me."
 
I roll my eyes at the situation and decide it is best for me to go to my room and leave them to bicker with each other. On the way I spot the twins doing something mischievous in the closet. I ignore them and go my way. I will attend to them later. They are also doing something naughty but usually Orion takes care of that.

The moment I stepped into my room I heard glass break.

Just great.

I sigh and make my way downstairs. Again. When I got there I see Alicia cry and Riguel panicking. When I turn to Orion he lays collapsed the ground with broken pieces of glass all over his body.

Oh No!
 
I immediately contact the ambulance and my parents. I try to help Orion as much as I can. When the paramedics arrive I am surprised to see that my parents haven't arrived yet. They must be busy I hope.

I put Riguel in charge while I travel to the hospital. The moment I got there I contacted my parents again. This time my mother answers.

"What is the matter, dear?" there was a lace of uncertainty in her tone but I ignore it.

"Orion just got admitted into the hospital. You need to come quickly." I say while pacing up and down in the waiting area.

I heard a sigh escape before she quickly composed it. "I am afraid that is not possible, dear. We are very busy at the moment. You will just have to handle the situation on your own. I will transfer money incase any extra funds are needed. I'm sorry but I have to go. Bye." With that she ended the call.

I stood still shocked that my own mother was not able to show support for her own child.

It would not be the first.

I collapsed in a chair while sighing with exasperation. Putting my head on my hands thinking how this day could not get any worse.

At least that is what I  thought.
