Kyungsoo was listening to the radio in the taxi. Parents were sharing moments during which they were so proud of their children, it brought tears to Kyungsoo's eyes. Her hand reached to grab her headphones and play a song to distract herself from breaking down into tears, but She was frozen. She wanted to hear more of the love in their voices.
It's knowing that her own parents won't be there to watch her brother with their fill-the-room smiles. That they won't be there to take an entire memory card's worth of pictures, and that the family pictures that are taken will feel incomplete.
That Ken won't get a bear hug while hearing his mom tell him how fast he've grown up, and that his dad can't purposefully embarrass him just for laughs. Nor can he brag to his friends about his son's successes because he wasn't there to experience them with Kyungsoo and Ken.
None of them were there...
it's even more than all of that. It's realizing that their parents never knew ken as a teenager, and will never know him as an adult. That they will have missed all of his graduations, from elementary, middle, and high school. And that Kyungsoo, was the only family member left for him.
It's the fact that Kyungsoo and ken have made decisions about their future and are moving on to create their own life.
A life their parents will never know...
Looking through tears at the cars in front of her, She thought about all the moments in the past few years that would have brought tears to her own parent's eyes. the moments that would have made them proud.
This afternoon, Ken will graduate from high school and she was on her way to his graduation ceremony. the countdown to the end. It's as if a domino was tapped. One by one, things are starting to end. And, with each of the minutes Pass, Her brother is one step closer to that surreal moment that's played in her head for years and years. walking across that stage to graduate.
However Kyungsoo was surprised to see some familiar faces entering the hall.
"What are you guys doing here?" She said loud enough for them to hear.
"if it's not us then who is it? Did you think We'd miss this special day?" A girl with short haircut and boyish personality said as she side hugged Kyungsoo.
"But how did you know Today is the graduation?" Kyungsoo asked them and in return they laughed at the shock in her voice.
"Remember the day jungkook asked you about the date of ken's graduation last year? So we decided to make a surprise come for you and ken since that day! Behind your back of course" The girl said and chuckled.
This girl called amber. she Met her when she got into the security of the company. She is a bodyguard there. And amber loved her at first sight, that sometimes she would take some of her resting time just to check on Kyungsoo and chat for a little amount of time.
