Two years ago, he had never thought about moving from Vienna to Berlin. To all honesty, he prefered to get old and wrinkly in his home city, but his life had taken a different turn. Moving out of Vienna meant; having a better chance of finding a decent job and becoming independent. He had never been there before. All he knew about Berlin was it's news that spread rapidly all over the Europe and the world.
Roderich had found a place in one of Berlin's
Famous Training courses. He had an internship class. Naturally, after finishing his courses, he could begin with his career and find his dream job. He had waited for an opportunity of such, in which he could actually recieve money for having a part in each of the courses. After taking one year break, it had been a fair restart for him. Although, he had known nothing about Berlin, and the consequences, he accepted and moved to the strange city.
He didn't like the city, he actually missed Vienna badly. He regretted his decisions sometimes. But, most of the times, he was busied by his lessons and courses. He hated how crowded it could get each after noon around 6 p.m or how dangerously empty the stations got around 9 p.m. He always wanted to leave early but each time, he was stopped by a new obstacle: on his first week, the tube line was getting repared. On his second week, he had forgotten his keys at the university. On the third week, he had an extra curriculum.
And the list went on...
Each day, there was a new reason. Every day, he made up an excuse, the trick was getting old.
It was mostly boring, because he was all alone by himself at home and for being a socially awkward person, he didn't really have a talent of finding friends. On the first month, he was all by himself. He spoke the same speech and language as the Germans, but he couldn't understand their attitude. He misunderstood easily. Had never thought that the humour distinguished between the languages.

Roderich hadn't particularly been alone. Sure, he had a few fellow classmates, some school friends, some acquaintances, but somehow, he always ended up with the thoughts of loneliness.
Everyday he took one hour till he got to his school. He drove with three different lines. One station that he specifically liked and disliked at same time was S Alexanderplatz. It was always crowded. But, there was so many people from different culture, Tourists from many countries.
He got hyped when he heard someone speak with the significant Vienna accent that he was accustomed with.
He liked so many things about that station, but yet he had his own reasons to dislike it, too.
Gangs, he hated them. They were dangerous. Although, they were well kept and hidden from people's eyes and minds, but still he knew better in a crowded station, in center of city, there were always chances that a group owned the place, otherwise, why were there alot of fights? He was always careful.
On the second month, his exams had began. He studied alot and went out less than ever. He even hired a boy to help him with buying the grocessories. It cost alot of money, but he was fine with that, as long as he didn't have to leave his flat.
On the third month, he had met a nice girl from his class. She was from Hungary and spoke fluent German. They hang out alot. They went to shopping together. Once Roderich had to buy a gift for his mother, Elizabeth helped him.
They sat together when they shared classes together. On the fourth month, Elizabeth introduced him to her friends. He went out to parties with her. In between those meet ups, he could feel how attracted he was toward Elizabeth; not only in a sexual way, but rather in a form of romantic feeling. He thought he was over exagerrating his feelings. He liked how she was always around him. He liked how she helped him. He liked how she always ended up with him. He liked how she needed him. He liked how she asked for help about their mathematical studies. Everything sounded perfect. He liked everything about her.
On the fourth month, he asked her out for a date. He gave his feelings a chance. It was difficult for him, because he was never open when it came to his feelings or emotions.
Elizabeth accepted it. On the fifth month, they were officially together and everybody in their classes knew. They looked cute together.
On the sixth month, Roderich was very much out going and had opened up more. He didn't feel as alone as before. On the seventh month, he went back to Vienna to visit his family. They liked his girlfriend, too. They wanted the best for their elder son. Roderich was glad that his family was positive about her, too.
On the eighth month, Elizabeth moved in into his apartment. Life was going on smoothly. Just as Roderich favoured.
On the ninth month, they had to pass their final exams. They really didn't have much time to waste. Again, Roderich hired the same boy from seven months ago. Jean was very much happy with the amount of money he recieved from them.
On the tenth month, Roderich had begun to feel tensions between himself and Elizabeth. It was beginning to stress him. He knew that Elizabeth had a bad temper, yet he accepted everything. They fought alot, lately. She was never sorry for what she said during their fights. Her words hurt.
And so, after the twelfth month, they broke up. Roderich was on his own again, because Elizabeth had moved. They saw eachother at the university and they both were guilty for sneaky looks when they thought the other wasn't aware of it. But mostly, they avoided eachother. Elizabeth didn't sit beside him anymore.
Roderich missed her, but he knew it was for the best to stay away from her. Maybe he shouldn't have ruined their perfect friendship. Anyway, it was going to be Elizabeth's last shared semester with him. He wasn't going to meet her again.
His heart ached everytime the thought passed through his head.
Once again, Roderich swore that he wouldn't trust anyone.
But his heart was broken.
He returned back to his old routine; no parties, no social gathering.

Even on the new year's evening, he spent the whole night alone in his room. He watched the fireworks lighten the sky. He had never felt this melancholic on his own. He just stared aimlessly at the colours of joy. Roderich had never felt this way before.
