Joe POV
After a while my dad came up to talk.
"Juliette?"
"What?" I was not in the mood to talk to him.
"Look, I know you won't listen to me,but, please, stay away from that Liam kid"
"No"
"Juliette"
"What? Why do you hate him so much?"
"Because of shit that happened years ago"
"Tell me what happened."
"No, you don't need to know"
"Then you shouldn't have a problem with me and Liam"
"Look, please just trust me"
"Tell me"
"Sit down."
"Ok. I'm never gonna be able to forgive Liam's dad for what he did. Ever. He used your mother horribly. Remember how I told you that me and your mom were best friends since we were children? Well....in high school your mom dated Liam's dad. I was so jealous. I was in love with your mother, she just didn't know that yet. Well, Liam's dad, Josh, knew that I loved your mother. He taunted me so much when they were together. I hated him, I just wanted to hurt him so much! Your mom 'loved' him. At least, that's what she told me. About two months after they dated, Josh took your moms virginity,then dumped her. It was the very next day! Your mom was so hurt. She went into a deep depression Joey. That was the worst I've ever seen your mom. It broke my heart to see her so broken. I remember one night, I had to pick her up from a bar cause she was wasted and I saw that she had cuts on her arm. Do you know what that did to me? That killed me" My dad was almost crying now. I hugged him.
"Dad, I'm sorry. I had know idea" I kept hugging him. We stayed like that for a few minutes until he calmed down.
"It's not your fault. Do you trust me now?" He asked.
"I do, but, why does that affect Liam?"
"Knowing what his father did, I don't want him to hurt you like your mother got hurt"
"Dad. I get what your saying. But, Liam isn't like that. Can you give him a chance? Please? Maybe one night I can invite him over for dinner and you can get to know him. He's a really sweet guy dad. Give him a chance?" I really like Liam and I want my dad to approve of him.
"I'll try" He said and hugged me. He then left my room. I checked my phone to see if I had any messages. Only one from Liam:
'You okay baby girl?'
'I'm fine. I'll tell you what's up tomorrow. Goodnight xxx'
I laid my phone down and went to sleep.
