Rose’s POV
“Rose can you please finish up our last order?”  My mom Jane Coleman said.
“Yeah.” I said as I put my rubber gloves on and started to stack the last cake that we backed.
My mom is the co-owner of the wedding cake bakery and the other owner just happened to be my ex-fiancé Alex’s Father.
When the cake was finally finished, it was 4:30 in the afternoon. I picked up the cake and headed to the freezer when someone bumped me and got cake all over both of us.
“I am so sorry!” I said glancing at the person I just got cake on.
“No, its okay. I wasn’t paying-” He said glancing up and stopping when he looked up at me.

I wasn’t paying-” He said glancing up and stopping when he looked up at me

“Attention. Miss Coleman. Hi.” He said.
I hated when he called me by my last name. Like he is trying to hurt me.
“I am so, so sorry, Mr. Thomson.” I said.
“It’s okay, like I said I wasn’t paying attention.” He said as he walked by me.
“At least let me pay for your dry-cleaning.” I begged.
“No thanks I got it.” He said. “And don’t worry about the cake. I don’t need it for another few weeks.” He said as he left the building.

I hurt him to the point that he doesn’t even look at me. I can’t even remember what caused us to break up in the first place. I just up and left him. At least that is what he makes me feel like.

I look over to my mom and she gives me a sad smile as I grabbed the mob and started to clean.

Alex’s POV
I walk into the bakery texting my future wife that I was just checking on the cake and that I will be at the meeting in a few. Suddenly, I am cover in cake and frosting.
“I am so sorry!” She said shocked.
“No, no, it’s okay. I wasn’t paying-” I begin as I smile at the person who accidently spilt cake on me but quickly fades away.

“Attention. Miss Coleman. Hi.”
“I am so sorry, Mr. Thomson.” She repeated but formally. The last time Rose called me Alex, was when she returned my ring and ran away. I need to get out of here.
“It’s okay, like I said. I wasn’t paying attention.” I said sounding a little too rude walking passed her
“At least let me pay for the dry-cleaning.” She sounded like she was about to cry.
I turned around to face her. “No thanks. I got it. And don’t worry about the cake. I don’t need it for another few weeks.” I said and I practically ran out of the building and leaned against the wall for a few second to get myself together. I get into my car and drive home to get into the shower and get ready for the meeting with the planner.
Rose’s POV
After he had left, I walk to the bathroom and cry. Alex and I were high school sweethearts. He used to be my next-door neighbor and we would always hang out on the weekends and walk to school together.
