"That was so not how I imagined this would go"

One-Shot

A/N: this is how I wish the scene in 1x04 between Andy and Jack lying in bed would have gone. Have fun!!! 

And in this moment, cuddled against Jack with his arm wrapped protectively around her shoulders, she felt save. She felt home. In this station, in her little bubble with Jack. But this bubble already burst once, when Jack wanted to marry her, but Andy wasn't ready. And now it was about to burst again. They both run for the captain's position. It was what Andy had always dreamed of; to run Station 19, but with Jack as her opponent it made things hard. If she won he'd probably leave the station, leave her. That's when Andy realised that she wanted him there, wanted him to stand up for her, to support her. So now, being held by him, it hit her: Their bubble was about to burst and she wasn't ready for it. A single tear crept out of her eye and she didn't care, she just held tighter onto Jack. This movement obviously stirred him awake and he looked at her, simultaneously wrapping her arm tighter around her. 

"Hey, what's wrong?", he asked sleepily.

Andy sat up and looked him in the eyes. "I can't to this without you, I could never run this station without you. You make me work harder and most importantly, better."

Jack pressed a soothing kiss to her forehead. "Andy, I know you, and I know you'd do great as captain. You worked here without me before, you can do it again."

"No, Jack, you don't get it. I can't loose you. I want you with me, I don't care anymore what the others would think, or what my dad would think, or that it is against the rules. I just want you...and I know you want me, too. You even bought a damn ring", she laughed through the tears now streaming down her face, "so please don't let me down now."

"Oh Andy, my Andy", Jack said laying his forehead against hers, "I've never stopped loving you. I just couldn't. I'm sure we can do it, this captain thing... and this telling the others thing", he smiled. 

A few seconds later Andy suddenly pulled away. "Where's the ring?"

"In the back of my locker, why?", Jack asked very confused, but Andy was already out of bed and going through his locker.

"Because I want it."

"Wait, wait, wait", Jack said when she turned around, the engagement ring in her hand, and took the ring, "you do know hat that means don't you?"

"Yes."

"And you are sure about it."

"Yes! Yes, Jack, I wanna marry you", Andy said truthfully.

Jack smiled. "That was so not how I imagined this to go", he laughed and took her hand to put the ring on her finger. "I love you, Andy Herrera", he smiled grateful. 

"And I love you, Jack Gibbson." 

And when she kissed him she knew she could face everything as long as she was with him. And the first thing to face was telling the squad, their family, about the news.
