it all began the day of dean's birthday December 7th but before I get into that, I should catch up on the past 2 weeks...
when the lunch bell went off I started to walk down the hall to look for dean I couldn't see him through all the scattered groups of friends but I eventually found him drinking out of the water fountain by my locker he looked up at me and gave me a smile.
"Hey," I said to him while he finished getting a drink.
"Hey" he said as he wiped his mouth off with his sleeve "I know next week is my 17th birthday and all but can you please keep the party small," Dean said in a begging tone
"Whatever do you mean," I say with a smile as I turned on my heel and walked away with all of my books in hand. he made a loud grunt noise and I just gave a small chuckle looking back at him to see him following me slumped over in an annoyed stance. I stuck my tongue out at him. he rolled his eyes and smiled sticking his tongue back out at me. when I continued watching where I was going a second went by before my books were on the ground I look up to see a tall guy standing in front of me.
"I am so sorry!" I said looking up to see Jakes piercing greenish blueish eyes, not only is he the hottest guy in school but he was so nice also he can sing and he's on the football team.
"hey no its no problem at all it was my fault" helping grab my books and stacking them together we stood up and he handed me my books. any girl would drool over him but I'm not the kinda girl that drools over anyone nor have I ever had a boyfriend I mostly keep to myself my one and only friend was dean.
"Thanks," I said with a sincere smile he just nodded "anytime,... what's your first class"
"uh... I have AP calc"
"Really? how come I never noticed you before?" Jake asked in a confused tone
"maybe its because I sit in the back I'm not sure" or maybe its because your type of people don't hang around us normal people I whisper under my breath.
"what was that," he said with a confused look on his face
"Nothing!" I mentally give myself a "nice going" I thought I was thinking that it wasn't supposed to come out of my mouth. The 5-minute warning bell rang distracting me from my thoughts thank goodness!
"well uh...see you in class?"
"ye-yeah sounds good" I walked down the hall, entering the classroom and went to the back of the class to my self-assigned seat. As class started I heard the door open and I saw jake. I made dead eye contact with him! I got so scared I looked away from him so fast the flash would have gotten whiplash. Dean followed right behind jake. dean walked to the back of the class and took the empty seat next to mine his smile 2 times the size this morning.
"hey" he whispered
"Hey" I say back confusion clear in my voice
"I heard what everyone's talking about"
I look around the room "like I care, gossip isn't my cup of tea."
then his smile grew even wider, how is that possible? "people are talking about you and jake jones "
"oh my gosh literally nothing happened we bumped into each other and he helped me pick up my books besides all of that all we did was talk," I said irritatedly
he just chuckled "I'm throwing a party for my birthday in two weeks on Dec 2 and of course, you're invited"
"Gee thanks ill have to think about it," I said giving him a fake smile and tilting my head.
the bell rang for class to end
I rushed out of the room trying to get to my next class which I have with Dean, I'm mostly in senior classes but I'm a junior. I'm not a nerd but I'm not popular as you could probably tell. Dean is my best friend in the entire world he's the other part of me and he's always happy for me. We have only been in one fight and the others are arguments I love him with my whole heart I would never ever ask for a better friend because their Non-existent. I took my seat in the middle of the classroom for English, I hate this class and that's why this is my only junior class the classroom was roaring with sound waiting for the teacher. Once he approached the room the whole class went silent you could hear a pin drop. Okay well that's weird I'm not used to the class being so quiet what's so different than any other day but the teacher did look pissed off I wonder what happened.
"Whatcha thinking about" Dean whispered to me
"I wonder why Mr. McMillen looks so angry" I said in a hushed tone this class flew by and when the bell rang for lunch Mr. McMillen explained the homework assignment. Everyone already packing up their stuff and leaving class as me and Dean head into the cafeteria, we sat at our normal spot right in the middle so we didn't stick out, while Dean and I where talking Dean looks behind me so of course I'm curious and decided to look to, when we see Jake walking in our direction we looked at each other.
"Is he coming this way" Dean had a confused look on his face
"no, why would he? he's popular and were... well. I don't even know what we are but I know that I'm not on his list of girls to talk to" I said with a slight chuckle
I made eye contact with Jake and then I panicked and turned around quickly and Dean looked at me and started laughing I'm not kidding like full out laughter where his eyes started to water
"what so funny" I hear a voice behind me say. I turned around to be greeted with jakes beautiful blue eyes
"hi," I said
"Hey, you didn't answer my question" he smiled his beautiful smile
"uh..im..we-"
Dean cut me off "I just remembered a great joke from last night"
"oh really what's that?" he said with a cocky look on his face acting like he already knew why we were laughing
"it's about a whale and the ocean we don't remember the correct words," I said "sorry"
"mhm well ill have to look it up, anyway can I talk to you...alone"
I looked over at Dean he nodded then I looked at Jake I nodded "sure?"
