Her vision slowly went in and out of focus. the rope hanging from the barn ceiling the night sky glistening in her eyes reminding her how amazing the world is. Just to think that this is the night she will finally be able to let go of all the pain she has been holding for years.  For her, the nights are long and hard, thoughts of all of the pain stopping seem tempting. Leaving everything behind going into amazing white gates with gold surrounding her. The warm embrace of the sun. Is this really what she wanted? She would never be able to view the night sky again, nor look at the stars.

Tears started to fill her eyes again remembering the people in her life constantly fighting her will to want to stay alive. Bullying her until she feels like she is nothing in this world. Setting up a step stool tears streaming down her face taking a large deep breath in. She will be finally able to rest in peace. She takes a step onto the chair trembling. her long black hair covers part of her face. Her breath created steam from the cold autumn night air. Her bright sky-blue eyes with shots of silver glistening in the moonlight. She stares at the rope confidently wrapping it around her neck. Finally leaping the stool only to have the beam snap as she falls on her back coughing hard. Ashamed she looks at her phone.

"Missed calls?"  Her soft velvet voice sliced the silence of the night. As she scrolled threw her phone she saw an unknown number reading threw the texts only to have someone on the other end of their phone desperately trying to get ahold of her. Her phone rings in her hand as she hesitantly picks it up.

"Who are you why do you keep texting me? I'm busy."

"V-Veronica, Please s, stay with me hear. I'll make you remember why you love living please just stay by my side. I'll introduce myself tomorrow please just wait for me."  The man's voice shuttering. Like the first time, she's ever heard someone beg for her to stay.

"Why do you care, how do you know my name I don't even know who this is. How can I know you actually care and just don't want to take photos of me and spread them around so everyone can see me again? Leave me alone, please. There's nothing more I want than to be left alone. Is that too much to ask for nowadays? I have nothing. My mother and father are more worried about my little sibling than what I could ever provide. I'm living in a shadow. I am nothing to my family I am no one in this world why should I give it more time? I can't do anything right for anyone so please leave me be."

Veronica takes a breath about to hang up the phone before she realizes someone was running into the barn.  only to hold her in a warm embrace, feeling the tears of her holding her head and holding it close to him. The smell of pine filled the air. The careful yet tight embrace.

"Veronica please stay with me, Give me a week. We will keep it our secret. I'll take care of everything from now on."

Veronica tightly hugs back finally crying and falling to her knees crying. Screaming out in pain and relief that someone cares about her. But this man his embrace but more importantly who is he?
