Extinguished Flames (Shouto Todoroki X Reader)

Prologue: The new heir, Seiya

~Third person point of view~
On the 9th of December, a beautiful boy and girl was born, the winter twins is what they were called. The twins lived happily with their parents, playing in the manor, having fun, and not caring about their responsibilities yet. "Who should take over, [name]?" the current title holder, Shouto, asked his wife. "It depends on how they grow." his wife, [name], replied. They grew, and they decided that the son would take over, but...

The same thing happened.

On the 5th of March was coronation night, they attacked. "We meet again, [name]." the current title holder, Shigaraki Tomura, said. The woman was about to return the greeting but her voice was caught in her throat, she couldn't speak at the sight she saw.

[name] was staring at the body of her son, she was fuming with anger and she was in pain for her daughter. "Not again... please let this be a nightmare!" she muttered to herself. "But it isn't! You see: your precious son is dead!" Tomura yelled. "Why?!" she asked him. Shouto looked at his wife and saw how her aura and eyes changed, "No! [name], come back!" he yelled but his wife didn't flinch nor blink.

[Name] walked forward and her daughter watching her feeling only one thing, fear. Well, what'd you expect? Your once loving and caring mother walking towards an enemy with a murderous aura. "I will not let you hurt my family again!" she yelled. 'Again?' Seiya thought to herself. [name] used the same tactic she used to kill Tomura's father.

"Seiya, I'm sorry you had to see that." [name] apologized. "Stay away from me." her daughter replied. [name] and Shouto gasped at what they heard. "...why?" was all [name] could reply before leaving. "Seiya, you heard your mom say 'again', right?" Shouto asked their daughter. "Yeah." she replied shortly. "You see... your mom experienced the same thing. Shin, your uncle and your mom's brother was killed on his coronation and [name] was left alone to handle the punishments of life." he explained. Seiya soon realized that her mother is in so much pain right now, and she just added even more pain by pushing her away.

It was time for supper, [name] didn't come down. Shouto and Seiya were worried and decided to check on her. They opened the door to ajar and saw [name] sitting on the vanity stool and was looking at her feather pen set. "Shin, how much more do I have to suffer? I didn't ask for more punishments. I was happy with my family... Shouto, Seiya, and Seiji. I didn't want Seiya to feel this pain, she wasn't supposed to!" [name] yelled. After the heart aching wails of [name], Seiya entered the room. "I'm sorry mom." she apologized. "It's alright, Seiya." after hearing those words, Seiya immediately ran and embraced her mother. "Remember, you always have a choice in life. Whatever it is, we'll support you." [name] whispered before falling asleep.

The next day, they were deciding on what Seiya should do from now on. "How about go to U.A.? You could meet your future husband there. I mean that's how I met your father." [name] suggested. "Yeah, if I were to choose my future son-in-law, I recommend Midoriya's son." Shouto suggested. "What?! Izuku-chan has a son?!" [name] exclaimed. "Yeah, with Uraraka-san. If I remember correctly, his name is Izuko." Shouto replied. "How about one from a noble family? Did you know Yaoyoruzu-san and Iida-kun were arranged?" [name] stated excitedly. "They have a son! His name is Moten." [name] added. "Wow." Shouto monotonously replied. "So? U.A.?" the parents asked their daughter. "Sure!" she replied happily. "Mrs. Todoroki, a letter has arrived for you." one of the maids notified her. "Thank you." [name] replied.

My dearest daughter,
I heard about what happened to Seiji. I'm very sorry about your son, if you need someone to talk to... I'm right here. Anyways, I'm sorry to bring this up but... Seiya needs to be known as soon as possible. If not, the kingdoms will panic, remember; the Todoroki and [last name] families are the most powerful ones. Seiji's burial will be on you and your family, Enji, Lance, Shouta, and I will be here for you, Shouto, and Seiya. See you soon, dear.

"Shouto..." [name] gestured for him to read the letter. "Oh" was all he said. "What is it?" Seiya asked. "Well, the heir needs to be introduced and we need to let your brother... go." Shouto coated his words. "Oh.." Seiya replied, sadness obviously present in her voice. "Don't worry, Seiya. We're still here, and Seiji is too. Not physically but spiritually." [name] replied followed by a sad smile. "Would you like to make him a quote?" she asked their daughter. "Quote? Sure." Seiya hesitantly took the paper, feather, and ink.

The day came where she would be introduced and her brother will be physically gone. Oh, how she wished she saved him back then, and so the tears began to flow.

"When the last night of winter has ended, and the first day of summer has started, surely the snow will disappear."

"Good evening everyone." the priest started. "Today we celebrate the introduction of the new heir, Seiya!" the priest continued.
