"Alvin! What happened to you, why do you look like a hologram? What happened to your legs?" He asked frantically, panic spread all over his face.Hologram? My legs? I quickly look down just to notice my legs... Gone! It's not even visible to my own eyes!
"What the hell! Why am I disappearing?" I scream terrified!
Suddenly a card like structure floated at top speed and halted in between our faces. It was the mysterious unknown card we found on the isolated road. The moon structure on the card started to shine brightly, the shine increased by every second totally engulfing the both of us. And just in mere seconds, me and Eric were absorbed into the card. We most probably lost consciousness because of the unusual overly bright light.
I came around, when? After how long? I don't know. My brain was almost splitting because of the intense headache. Wow, I thought I had no pain, no, I was certain I felt no pain after being dead, so why am I feeling pain all of a sudden. I forced open my heavy eyelids and started blinking slowly to clear out the blurry vision. I was standing on what seemed like a fully perfect white floor. It didn't seem like a room, I couldn't figure out any walls or even ceiling. It was like I was in a white of nothingness. I looked around and noticed Eric lying on the white floor few meters away. I quickly ran to him.
"Eric! Eric! Wake up! Eric!" I called out shaking him several times. After a while he groaned, most probably because of pain, and slowly started to come around. About after 5 minutes or so, he finally fully woke up and looked at me and around himself.
"Where are we? What happened?" He asked quite confused. "I don't know. I was lying here when I woke up." I answered like it was obvious! Eric stood up and that very moment the once fully white area became dark, pitch black, like someone just switched off the invisible lights.
There was absolutely no time for panic because in just a second, the floor beneath us which turned pitch black suddenly began making lines of colourful lights. It created an unknown yet beautiful pattern beneath us. We could finally see each other's faces again.
A huge floating screen appeared in front of us and a monotonous robotic voice started to speak.
"Hello Alvin, welcome to the game of secrets."
At first I though it was through some hidden speaker but then I realised it wasn't some speaker but someone was directly talking in my mind. By then, letters and words started to form on the screen.
Before we begin the game, let me introduce myself and the game instructions and rules.
I am El Fri, the host of this game. I will be with you from the start till the end, that doesn't mean I will help you. I will only lay out the institutions and rules of the game. And if you're thinking about getting out of here, then win and step out, if you live that is. This game is called "The Game of Secrets". As the name suggests, with every level that you pass in this game, you will be able to unlock a fragment of your hidden/lost memories and also secrets related to anyone you want to know. And if you fail, a fragment of your memory will be taken. There is a total of 5 D levels, 10 C levels, 3 B levels, 2 A levels and final 1 S level, with S being the toughest level in this game. If you reach the final S level and win, all the remaining lost memories will be given to you, but if you lose, you'll be exterminated, in this world and also in your real world. Few levels will have bonus rewards of random, which may provide you game hints or answer to certain questions.
It finally stopped or so I thought. Just when I was about to ask something, it cut me off -
Any questions you may have, cannot be answered right now due to the game rules. All the players will be given a wooden game card with your identification, game points, levels passed and status. Your card will be updated each time you pass 5 levels. From wood, bronze, silver, gold and black. Obtaining the black game card will give you the power to leave here. It's basically the key to the door of your world and also this card will change into a credit card, the points you gather playing games will be converted to your currency and you can spend it in your real word.
Wow! Even though it sounds cool and all, but, I know better that something is very wrong here. First of all, I'm not even a human anymore, even though our world is a lot advanced in technology it still doesn't hold so much power. At least that's what I thought. Guess I was wrong. And the instruction continues appearing yet again.
There are more than 50 players here. The final S level will have only two players. You cannot work in group or anything. Each one of you are to pass the levels individually. The first D level will start in 3-2-1...
And there goes! I didn't even realise what happened before the floor split open and we were falling. I hurriedly called out to Eric but in no vail. We were once again engulfed in the darkness.
