Caleb
I walk down to the kitchen quietly, listening as Chelsea and Zeke laugh.
" Stop it you're going to ruin it," Chelsea whines with a laugh.
" i won't I promise," Zeke says. I stand in the entrance, watching them. " Here try it. I promise you'll like it."
I watch him grab a spoon and put some batter on it, holding it out to her. She gives him a weird look but lets him feed it to her. I hold back my laugh when some of it stays on the edge of her mouth.
" Okay you're right," Chelsea says licking her lips. " It is better."
" Right? I'll put it in the pan then put it in the oven," Zeke says with a grin.
" Great. I'll start on the cupcakes,"Chelsea says as she wipes her mouth.
" Are you sure? You don't want to wait until the brownies are done?"
" Actually, can you wait to put them in? We can put them both in at the same time," Chelsea says.
" Brownies take longer in the oven though," Zeke says as he finishes pouring the batter in the pan. " Here, I'll put this is the bigger oven so they can bake properly then when the cupcakes are ready to bake, I'll put them in the smaller one, with the cookies."
" Yeah that works," Chelsea says with a nod. " Thank you for helping me by the way, Grace is too lazy these days."
" It's nothing really," Zeke says placing the brownie batter in the big oven, he sets the time and closes it. He stands back up as he talks. " I was already here too."
" That's true," Chelsea says with a laugh. " You seriously need to go home at least one night."
" I went home Sunday night," He says. " After a long swimming session."
" True but still, Dylan misses you. And you probably miss your room," Chelsea says.
" If I'm at home, you're always with me," Zeke points out.
" You'll be at home while I'm at school though," Chelsea says.
" Gross," Zeke says. " Thanks for reminding me."
" You're welcome," Chelsea says with a grin as she pecks his cheek. " Come on let's get going with these cupcakes."
" Hey," Zeke says pulling her away from measuring the flour. She looks up at him, confused. " I love you."
I mentally groan as they kiss. " Now I lost count." I hear Chelsea whine as they pull away.
" It was just one. Is this all for your anniversary because if it is, you guys are fat," I finally speak up. They both jump at my voice and I laugh.
" Jesus Christ," Zeke says holding onto the edge of the island. " How long have you been standing there?"
" About fifteen minutes," I say with a shrug.
" You could be helping you know?" Chelsea says as I properly enter the kitchen.
" Nah this is fun to watch," I say with a laugh. I stick my finger in the cupcake batter, earning a slap in the hand from Chelsea. " Ow!"
" No eating batter," She says pulling the bowl away from me.
" You ate some of the brownie batter," I point out.
" She was tasting the difference," Zeke says with a shrug.
" She isn't the smartest," I say with a sad smile.
