The young girl ran through the alley, dodging people left and right. Her dark blue eyes sparkling as she made her to the candy store. She had received her monthly allowance, her first actually, ever since her father got a better paying job, he had promised her an allowance. Her older sister calling for her to slow down was complete ignored by the dark-haired girl.
"Esmeralda! Alda! Slow down!" Her sister called, they both looked different if it wasn't for the eyes, while one had blonde hair and the other brown, Esmeralda had paler skin due to her time inside and her sister looked tan due to her hours sunbathing, they both had a reckless attitude and a bond that seemed unbreakable.
Esmeralda's laughed as she continued out of her reach of her older sister, "Try and catch me, Jez!" She called out right before she ran into a boy. A small oof escaping her lips as she fell onto the ground. When she looked up, about to scold whoever just caused her to fall, the words seemed to die in her mouth as she met the eyes, that were like dark chocolate. "Uh. Sorry." The girl quickly apologized.
The young boy laughed, "Don't worry about it, sorry as well, bye!" He said as the woman, she assumed to his mother. Called out for him as he rushed toward the woman. Blaise. Why did she feel like she would remember that name? She got up and began her run to the candy store, about to take off again until her sister grabs her arm. She let out a loud groan. "Jez! Let go of me!" She whined at her older sister.
"Alda, we are gonna get my Hogwarts supplies first, understood?" Jezebel scolded, the younger girl let out a sigh and grumbled a fine and was dragged off by her older sister. She watched as the boy disappeared into the crowd and away from her sight. She had never been color blind before, but it seemed like she was, because the world seemed brighter than normal.

After two years, Esmeralda had finally received her letter, she had seen her older sister off to Hogwarts two years ago, now it was her turn, to be sorted into a house, make a ton of friends, and become a great witch! Esmeralda grinned, her dark blue eyes sparkling with ambition and hope. Her sister had been sorted into Ravenclaw, that didn't surprise her, what did is the fact she became a chaser for the Hogwarts Quidditch team. A chaser. Esmeralda couldn't believe her eyes when her sister had sent her that letter last year. Her eyes had practically bludged out of her head, the last time she checked, her sister could barely get her balance on a broom, let alone ride one!
How on earth did her sister end up becoming a chaser on the team! She was bound determined to become a greater chaser than her sister ever was! Well, that is if she ended up in Ravenclaw anyway. Her father always told her she would be a Slytherin, but she just couldn't see herself as one. Living in a musty common room, filled with green. Just the thought of wearing anything green made her extremely sick. She hated the color green, almost all of her life, her sister had dared her to eat grass.
She wasn't about to be beaten by her sister who had refused to even take a bite out of an onion. So, she did what any normal, rational thinking girl would do. She ripped up an entire fist full of grass and ate it. Then promptly threw it all up and regretted the decision for entire two days as she spent contemplating her life choices at St. Mungo's Hospital. Her sister had teased her about it, and her hatred for the color green just came with the eating of the grass.
She could personally say she had no interest in anything green. She thought her news of dying her hair a pastel blue would excite her sister, but all she got was a 'Cool'. Personally, she was little insulted that her sister didn't really comment on her new hair color. Esmeralda's thoughts wandered off to her mother, where she was, she hadn't been told, her mother had been traveling around the world, and on the way, found love in someone else. It honestly broke the entire families heart. The man promised to take care of her mother, but that wasn't what she cared for.
