Esmeralda groaned as she walked out of the infirmary, she was fairly annoyed by the fact she couldn't even be in a greenhouse without throwing up, even Madame Pomphrey admitted she had never seen someone with such fear and bitterness for anything green in all of her days. Esmeralda continued to grumble, unbelievable, she managed to humiliate herself on the first day of classes, luckily tomorrow, she would be given a textbook for herbology and told to just learn from that. But that just made her more horrified, how could this little thing make everything go wrong? This was the thing she kept asking herself as she slowly made her way to her next class, Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Esmeralda exhaled heavily, she remembers how her sister had been so excited to be able to learn defensive spells and how she wanted to be an Auror, so much for that dream. Turns out her sister is a wiz at healing spells, not so much at defense. Her sister came home that summer and practically studied everything there was about being a healer, made sense though, she was a Ravenclaw. Esmeralda laughed under her breath. She herself wasn't sure on what she wanted to be, being a healer or an Auror didn't really appeal to her, working for the Ministry could be an option but she wasn't all about being ordered around.
"This is probably why I managed to draw trouble to myself so often," Esmeralda muttered. Her inability to take orders made her the rebel child. It's not that she didn't want to, it's just that, she liked freedom, preferring to do things her way. Most of the time she tried to figure out a way around the instructions but still accomplish the thing she was assigned. It didn't work out, a lot. Many hours she spent trying to clean the house without doing her father's instructions, it never worked out, that means, something got broken or she got hurt. She isn't allowed to clean anything but her room.
But there wasn't much to clean up anyway, she never kept any of her things in plain sight, to anyone outside of the family, it looked almost like a guest bedroom if it wasn't for the fact there were several posters of wizarding world bands. But to her family, locate a key in her room and you can unlock something in the closet leading to a place where you can find anything of value for Esmeralda. Of course, she wasn't the one who put the spell on the closet door, her mother was. When she was still around that is. Esmeralda always had problems growing up not knowing where to put stuff, mainly because there was nowhere to put it, so her mother simply put a spell on the closet to make it possible to store everything of value in there.
It was kind of like a second room. If she had friends should have shown them, but Esmeralda didn't, as her father was a bit blood racist. It was quite hard growing up in a muggle community, having to hide her powers, it was difficult for her to do that. Considering her quick temper often came with her magic. A kid would be knocked back without Esmeralda touching them. Other times if she wanted something, like a cookie, and was denied it, the sad thing would come flying towards her. So many cookies were eaten due to that.
Esmeralda knew that it was her magic, she was a pureblood after all, but she wouldn't let her parents know that she knew what she was doing. She knew now that she was in Hogwarts, her days of cookie eating were over. Which made Esmeralda a bit sad. She moaned under her breath with exasperation as she walked into the class, a few minutes later than what she was hoping but the teacher paid no attention to her, thankfully anyway. She quite loathed being pointed out when late, and right now, she just wanted to hide. Puking on the first day, she was really smart, wasn't she?
At this rate, she was sure to demean herself into becoming an outcast. Well, at least now she wouldn't have to be in that green filled the place. Esmeralda hid her slightly pink cheeks in her arms, ugh! She was disgusted by feeling shame, she didn't feel it often as she didn't have a lot of things to make her ashamed. But puking on the first day of school because of some distaste for anything green, that would scar her forever. Esmeralda practically shuddered at the idea of people making fun of her for her ludicrous detestation for green.
