Alpha, Beta, Omega. Those are the three groups everyone is divided in since birth.

Alpha's are believed to be superior over betas and omegas. They are supposed to be the ones that rule over a pack; to always stand strong and never falter. Beta's are the most common amongst the population, a rather large 80%. While Beta's are inferior to Alpha's, they are usually treated with respect. The same can't be said for Omegas. Omegas are treated like actual trash. They are picked on, bullied, discriminated, abused etc.
This is the way the world has been for a while now but it wasn't always this way. There was a time where all three lived in harmony. Afraid to lose this system of hierarchy, the leaders of the largest packs around the world decided to form a council. The task of this elite group was to make sure the system of Alpha, Beta and Omega would stay this way. The council would make sure every Omega was being submissive and every Alpha was punishing their Omega where needed. The council also decided that every pack would consist of at least one Omega.
After the council ruled the werewolf world, the council decided they would no longer hide from the human world. The world was now dominated by wolfs. Humans now made up the lower class of society. Humans were not divided by the ranking system of Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Humans were thought to be all equal or all equally low.
Every three months, an Omega of a certain age gets into heat. This means the Omega is emitting pheromones that can be smelled by Alphas and Omegas. This smell is particularly strong and appealing to Alphas. Once in their heat, a male Omega can get pregnant. There is a drug that can suppress these pheromones, however, these do not work effectively on everyone.
Beta's are the least fertile of all the groups. Because Beta's are the largest group but the least fertile, it is not uncommon for Omega's to be forced to have children.

I was sitting in a car, looking outside the window. It was around 2 am. In the front seat sat my mother. She was always very collected but today she wasn't. Her hands were shaking while she was driving the car, looking back every 5 minutes to make sure we weren't being followed.
''Where are we going mom?'', I asked, slightly nervous. I didn't receive an answer. I only saw her slightly tightening her grip on the weel. I could feel her anxiety.
It was midnight when my mom suddenly knocked on my door. Her face was paler than usual and she tried to hide the exhaustion that I was sure was there on her face. She told me to get up immediately. I had never seen my mom so worried so I didn't waste any time and got up as quick as I could. ''Pack your stuff honey, we're going on a trip and we're not going to come back for some time''. I packed my stuff just like she said. She took my small suitcase and told me to hurry up. We both got into the car and started driving.
