"So where are we going?" I asked. "You think more then doing. Just follow me." He said as we walked along the sidewalk, hand in hand. I stopped walking. "We snuck out my house, and you won't tell me where we're going? I deserve to know." I crossed my arms over my chest. "We're going to a quick stop and a park. I just really wanted to be with you. Where we can be loud and as playful as we like. I missed you, is it that hard to understand?" He explained. I pouted a little. "I'm sorry." "Awe don't give me that face. Come on. Let's have fun. What's your favorite slushie flavor?" He took my hand and we started to walk again. "Cherry, banana, or coke." I said. "Pick one." He said. "Cherry. I know, very interesting." I said sarcastically. "No, but does that mean if I wore cherry ChapStick you'd kiss me more?" He asked. "I suppose, depending on how it tasted. Not all taste the same." I said. "So I guess I'll have to buy multiple cherry flavored brands, and you're just gonna have to kiss me til you find your favorite." He smiled. "Whatever." I said. We arrived at the quick stop, and he opened the door for me. "Thank you." I smiled. He walked up behind me, wrapped his arms around my waist, and rested his head on my shoulder. "Get what you want." He whispered, kissing my cheek, and letting me go. He talked to his buddy who worked the register.
"Micah, who's the girl?" Chester, my buddy who worked the register asked. "My girlfriend." I smiled, looking over at her, filling a cup full of cherry slushie. She's so damn cute. "Dude, she's hot. When you guys gonna... Ya know?" He chuckled, eyeing her. I reached over the counter and punched him. "Dude, we just started dating." "So?" He smiled, waving at her when she turned around and smiled at me. Waving back. Such a beautiful smile. I smiled and waved back. I turned to Chester with an unpleasant face. "She's a nice girl not a piece of meat. So no I'm not just gonna screw her and leave her." "Like that one night stand with Mary Jacobson. Dude, she was so fucking into you. I don't know why you didn't stay with her. She was hot." He said. I cringed at the thought. I don't know why I let that even happen. "Chester, shut the fuck up. It was a mistake. Here she comes, and don't talk about it. Just ring us up like your fucking job says for you to do!" Chester put his hands up defensively. Katherine walked over and put her hand on my lower back after setting everything on the counter. Cherry slushie, bag of chips, candy, and... cherry ChapStick. Leaning into my side, sliding her arm under my trench coat around my waist. She was so short her head was a perfect arm rest. I settled my arm on her shoulder and played with her hair instead. With my free hand I pulled out my wallet, and managed to grab a twenty and threw it on the counter. Chester took it and handed me back a ten, few dollars, and some change. Removing my arm from Katherine's shoulder I put it away, grabbed the stuff and headed out. "Bye loser!" I waved.
Katherine took my hand and we walked to the park.
Laying out my trench coat, we laid on the double wide slide, and she snuggled into my side. Her hand rested on my chest, her head in the nook of my shoulder, and legs thrown over mine. "Than this: where I do not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest, is my hand." I said, thinking of the first day we met. She smiled and finished me off. "So close that your eyes close as I fall asleep." "Do you still want me to go away?" I asked. "No." She said. "I'm glad, cause I don't want to." I said.
I slid the cherry ChapStick out my pocket, and put it on my lips. I licked them, taste testing it for myself, pretty good, so I turned over on my side, and puckered up. She giggled and kissed my lips, biting and sucking my bottom lip. "Unff." I moaned. That was so easy for her. She pulled away and we stared longingly into each other's eyes. I ran my fingers through her hair, and pulled her into a kiss. My hand sliding to her side so I began to tickle her again. She gasped, pulled away, and screeched. "Micah!" She kicked and tried to tickle me back. Play fighting, louder than I thought we were. "You kids be quiet!" The neighboring people yelled at us in the park. But being the 'kids' we are, we didn't listen, and we laughed and talked louder. Falling off the slide giggling.
Then I saw the cops pull up, shit, "Kath, we gotta go, now." I made her stop and her eyes widened. "Micah, holy shit." I grabbed the bag of stuff, shoving it in my trench coat pocket, took her hand and took off running. Being chased by the cops I knew we had to jump a fence. I let go of her hand, climbed and jumped the fence.
"Katherine, you gotta hop the fence. They'll catch us if you don't, and I'm not leaving you." I said. She looked behind her, and started to climb. "I'll catch you. Like when you fell from the tree. Jump and I'll catch you." She hopped into my arms, I caught her but my foot slipped on the grass so we tumbled down the hill. I wrapped my arms tightly around her, and made sure she wouldn't get hurt as we rolled. Finally we came to a stop. We panted for air, and began to laugh so hard our sides got sore. "Did we just... run from the cops... and tumble down a hill?" Katherine asked, gasping for air. "Uh-huh." I nodded. She laughed even harder. "I knew you were trouble." "If I'm so much trouble, why didn't you stay away?" I asked. "Attracted to the damaged and the dangerous, I guess." She smiled. "Man, I really wish I had that slushie now." I rolled on top of her and stuck my tongue down the back of her throat. Letting us swap saliva, hoping it'd help. She pushed my face away. "No." "Okay, I'm sorry. Just thought it might help." I said, rolling off her and pulling her into my side again. I liked how she was snuggled there.
We just laid in the music of the night.
The crickets chirping, the wind blowing, trees and leaves rustling. Our heart beating and breathing in a sync. I breathe in, she breathed out, and our hearts beat together in the same tune.
"Micah, odd question." She said.
"I might have an odd answer." I said.
"Are you a virgin?" She asked.
