"But i don't think Emeka can forget Hani so
easily,
does that mean I will say yes to a man that
Is still in love with his ex and he's still
grievously hurt from the separation?
What about me, don't i have a right to be
happy, to love and be loved?" Tosin asks
herself rhetorically,
O God! please have your way" she prayed
again and finally slept off.
Hani was confused, she has cried her eyes
out.
"What do I do now, I just have to wait till the end of the meeting tomorrow" she consoled
herself as she shut her eyes to sleep,
Even though she had already wet her
beddings with tears.
Emeka kept turning right and left on his
bed,
"Tosin is an amazing personality, but
marrying her won't take away the wound in my heart,
I would be hurt even more and there's no
Doubt that it won't affect her too,
What happens if she starts liking me in the
long run and I'm unable to open my heart
to love her because I still care about Hani?
I think its better i go away, I will simply
resign from my job and start over again
else where, I will also do my PhD in another institution".
Emeka thought to himself.
Vil didn't know where to start from as he
kept pacing in the sitting room.
He had already discussed with his mother
on phone on his return from Hani's house.
"My son," his mother began
I know the lady daddy is talking about, I've met her on few occasions during my visit to Nigeria,
To be frank with you, that lady is an angel in human form,
You can trust your father on this, you know you are our only son,
We certainly can't joke with matters like this and your dad is a spiritual man too". She
said.
"daddy said he will discuss with Emeka
tomorrow to let him know what he has to
say about my marriage to Hani". Vil
responded.
"Emeka is like a son to us, his mum
continued...
he has always stood by the ministry since
he came in,
it won't be nice for you to marry Hani
because the church already knows her as
his fiancee, but nevertheless, if he is okay
with it then there's no problem.
Your father and I will support you all the
way irrespective of the outcome of the
meeting".
As the call ended, she took the next
available flight into the country unknown
to him, she had already discussed with her husband earlier on,
While Vil was yet in Hani's place,
they possibly couldn't allow their only son
to be alone at a time like this.
Finally it was Sunday...
Everyone started preparing for service.
Tosin as usual wore a smile on her face as
an usher despite the fact that she had a lot
on her mind.
While she was yet at the door welcoming
people to church, to her greatest surprise
her NYSC friend in Niger state who called
her two days ago walks in...
"its a lie! she shrieked in joy,
Victor! is this you, my God!
What are you doing here, by the way,
welcome to my church" she says giving him a warm hand shake.
Some of the church members smiled at the
reunion of the two friends.
Victor was dazed, he couldn't believe his
eyes,
"madam church...how far, you go fear usher nah,
so them no fit make you the pastor of the
church abi" they both burst into laughter...
"How many children do you have now?" he asked
"Children ke, I'm not married yet my dear" she replied.
"Why? Its been two years since we passed
out from NYSC, men no dey this church abi dem blind,
Don't they know you are an angel in human form, in fact I need to see the youths in this
church make I wash their eyes" they both
roared in laughter again.
"Make dem leave eye washing for you o, Mr eye washer"...she said tossing her hair
backward.
"Tosin, you must take me out today after
service" Victor demanded.
"I wish I could but today is really tight for
me, I have some issues to attend to but just call me in the week,
I guess you're still in Benin for now right?
She asks
Victor stared at her for a while, Tosin was
his first love. He got attracted to her the
first day he met her..
