The group was at the catering area watching as the Universal Champion, Roman Reigns opened the show.
Roman: I feel like I owe everybody an apology. For months, maybe a full year, I've come out here and spoke as Roman Reigns and I said a lot of things. That I'd be here every week, I said I'd be a fighting champion and a workhorse, but those were all lies.
The group was watching and listening, but they were confused. They continued to watch as the Big Dog continued to talk.
Roman: the reality is, my real name is Joe and I've been living with leukemia for 11 years, and unfortunately it's back. And because the leukemia is back, I can't fulfill that role, I can't be the fighting champion, and I've gonna relinquish the Universal Championship.
The crowd was shocked and in the back the group was equally shocked as well. The girls cuddled up with the guys as tears fell from their faces.
Roman: I was 22 years old when I was diagnosed with this and very quickly I was able to put it in remission, but I'm not gonna lie that was the most difficult time of my life, I didn't have a job, I didn't have any money and I didn't have a home.
The guys had tears coming from their eyes as they hugged their girlfriends. They watched as Roman put down the championship in the middle of the ring. He walked up to the ramp and he was met by his Shield brothers Dean and Seth. The three brothers hugged as the Kingslayer cried his eyes out.

Then as a final send off, the three performed their signature Shield fist pose. Then Roman walked backstage and he was greeted by his friends and co-workers such as Shawn Michaels, Shane McMahon, Triple H, Braun Strowman, Paul Heyman and Finn Balor. He continued to walk backstage and he spotted the group. They stood up and clapped for him and hugged him.
Alex: you got this Roman
Jaguar: *growls* (beat leukemia's ass)
Chad: I can't wait for our dream match
Roman: believe me brotha; it will happen when I get back
Alexa: I will miss you
Kairi: I salute you, Big Dog
Sasha: good luck dude
Roman: thank you guys, and a word of advice; keep believing in yourselves and keep fighting, don't let anyone hold you down. Believe that.
Then they all got in for a group hug and the Big Dog left the building to battle his leukemia.
