You are my Island

You are my island/
Life, a shipwreck, casts me into a sea of emotion/
As I'm struggling to stay afloat/
You beckon to me in the distance, throwing a lifeline/
I am pulled into safety/
Onto your warm, sandy beach/

You are the cure/
To a dull ache in my side/
It slowly tries to consume me/
But you're there/
Always able to dispel it/
To take away my pain/
And keep me on this plane/
Of existence/

I am in danger/
Of washing away/
On your sandy beach/
You keep the sea at bay/
But I dive into the water/
I cannot let you take my problems for me/
I must find my way home/

Maybe one day/
I'll go back to you, my island/
Once more/
