"Damn, I really need to do something with my hair," Pidge mumbled to herself, pulling it back into a small ponytail.

Her hair didn't reach her shoulders, but it fell past her ears. She had to cut it a while ago after getting a bucket-full of slime stuck in it. Lance had done it by accident in an attempt to mess with her, and the dumbass thought it was funny until he realized that it wouldn't come out. Pidge would have killed him on the spot if it weren't for Hunk suggesting that Lance pay for her to get it cut out. She agreed, figuring that as well as a free hair appointment, she could also watch Lance embarrass himself trying to explain how the incident happened.

She picked up a black sweater and pulled it over her T-shirt. The sweater had the words "Galaxy Garrison" painted in blue lettering I'm the middle, and she wore a blue pair of shorts to match. She put on the round glasses, or "Potter Glasses" as Keith liked to call them, that her brother gave her before he went off to college.

She insisted that the college was only about two hours away, but Matt argued that they wouldn't be able to see each other every day and he didn't want her to miss him. After going back and forth for a while, Pidge gave in after realizing that Matt wanted here to have them to comfort himself rather than her.

Pidge grabbed her bag and threw it over her shoulder before heading downstairs. The light was on in the kitchen and Pidge hear the sink water running with the occasional sound of a dish hitting another. She figured her mom was doing the dishes and decided it'd be best to avoid conversation before going out. Colleen could be a bit overbearing when it came to her daughter going out late. It may not have been that late, but she still became worried about Pidge's safety. Besides any of this, Pidge still wanted to get out of the house without being spotted. Her mother knew she was going out and that's all that there needed to be to it.

She quietly made her way down the stairs and towards the front door. She placed her hand in the doorknob, cautiously turning it. She wasn't even close to making it out before her mom spoke up from the kitchen.

"Where do you think you're going without saying anything to your mother?" She switched the sink faucet off. "Because I know that you realized I we as here since you were making such an effort to be silent."

Pidge sighed in defeat, turning towards her mother. "How'd you know I was even down here? I literally didn't make a noise. Hell, even I was starting to wonder if I was standing here!"

Still looking away from Pidge, Colleen said, "Watch your language. And I'm the mother of two impulsive and fearless children. I know everything and anything. That being said, I could see your reflection through the window above the sink."

"Damn window." She mumbled.

"I heard that. What did I say about your language in my house?"

"That it hurts Matt's weak-ass feelings?"

"Katie." She said in a stern voice, turning to look at Pidge.

She groaned. "Fine. A girl as smart and informative as me should know not to speak the language of idiots who don't have a more intelligent word for 'Fuck', or 'The F Word' and other junk phrases." She crossed her arms.

Colleen smiled. "Thank you. Now, for what I was talking about before." She leaned against the counter. "I know you said you were going out to the movies, but you never informed me as to who you were going with."

Pidge looked to the side. "It's just gonna be me and Keith. We're going in his car, and yes he has a legal license."

"Okay, well then you're free to go." Colleen turned back around and started on the dishes again, to Pidges surprise.
