The Good and The Bad

Chapter 1

A/N: The picture on top is the outfit and hairstyle Hailey did for her first day of work.

I groaned as the sun hit my face. I covered myself with the purple blanket hoping to drown out the light for a few more minutes. All I wanted, and needed, was a few more minutes of sleep.

Beep Beep Beep

"Fuck..." I muttered sitting up and turning off my alarm clock. Today is the very first day at my new job, Jones Radio Station. Honestly, this is my dream job. Since I was young girl, I have always wanted to be a radio star.

I finally rolled myself out of bed and walked into the bathroom. I stared in the mirror as I started giving myself a pep talk.

"This is it. Hailey Ross this is the start of a great new life. You are gonna meet the love of your life. You are gonna enjoy life. Everything is gonna be easier."

The bathroom door swung open revealing my roomate Diamond.

"Are you talking to yourself?"

I giggle turning a bright pink "hehehe Uh....no?"

"Riiiiight. Well are you excited? Have you met your boss yet? Is he hot? Are guys hot there?" Diamond started questioning me, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Get out. I need to change."

She sighed "fiiiiiiine. But you better fill me in when you get hoooome" she winked before leaving the bathroom.

I put my hair into a neat ponytail with a braid in it. I quickly did my so it looked natural but not like i just rolled out of bed. However, I look fresh so I felt good. Then I walked into my closest, trying to figure out what I'm going to wear. I finally decided on a white shirt with a salmon colored jacket along with black pants and white wedges. I looked in the mirror and smiled softly. "You, Hailey Ross, look hot."

I grabbed my black purse and phone, grabbing a banana nut muffin as I rushed towards the door. "Bye Diamond!" I called over my shoulder before shutting the door and rushing downstairs.

I quickly ran outside, waving down the cab and giving them the address of my new workplace. As my taxi driver drove down the road, I studied the New York skyline. It was all so beautiful. And oddly enough, I was gonna work in one of the buildings that was part of this amazing view.

Finally, we reached Jones Radio. I quickly paid the taxi driver, and quickly walked inside. I can't believe this is happening. I walked up to the assistant at the desk.

"Hi. I'm Hailey Ross. This is my first day here."

She nodded typing something in the computer before smiling at me. "Okay if you can just sit next to that other lady over there, Mr. Jones will be with you two in a few minutes."

I nodded and sat next a pretty blonde girl with blue eyes. I played with my purse a few minutes before she offered her hand to me with a bright and friendly smile. "Hi there! I'm Vivian Michaels. Aren't you excited? I know I am!"

I giggle and take her hand, shaking it softly, "I'm Hailey Ross. And ya. I'm so excited. I wanted a job like this since I was a little girl."

"Oh. My. God. Me too! You know. I think we are gonna be great friends."

I smile before a handsome guy with black hair and green eyes walked into the waiting room. He looked at Vivian and gave her a smile before looking at me. The moment our eyes met I swear, time stopped. For what seems like hours, we just stared into each others eyes before I quickly looked down, turning a soft pink. "Hailey and Vivian I assume?"

I shivered when I heard his deep yet soft voice. The way my named rolled of his tongue...Oh my god Hailey! This is your boss. I looked at him, giving him a soft nod. Thank god for Vivian.

"Yes! Mr. Jones I'm Vivian. Hailey and I are so excited to start working for you!". She chirped happily.

He nodded as he looked down at his clipboard. "Vivian you will be working with Macy. She will be here in a second. Miss. Ross, if you could follow me please." he smiles at me.

I nodded and we started walking down the hallway. I glanced over at him, studying his tall figure. The suit he was wearing showed off his muscles. Wow...those are big arms. Okay I think im drooling a little.

"So, why did you decide to start working here Miss. Ross?" Alex asked, glancing over at me.

"Oh please call me Hailey. And I decided to start working for the radio station because...Well it's a long story."

"Well maybe you can tell me sometime. We could get coffee sometime?" he offered, giving me a flirty smile. 

I blush softly and nodded. "That sounds great."

He nods slightly, facing forward, a small smirk dancing on his lips. God now I can't wait for our coffee date. Wait.... It's not a date Hailey. It's colleagues getting to know each other.  God what is your problem. Whatever. We kept walking down this long as hallway until we finally reached a door that he ended up knocked on. Well duh. Why wouldn't he knock on a door. Okay shut up brain.

The door open revealing a man a little taller than Alex with brown hair and blueish grey eyes. He seemed like a professional man, but yet had kind of a bad boy vibe to him. I study him quickly before he looked at me and scoffed. Um, okay rude.

"Shane this is Hailey. You will be her mentor."

"Who the fuck decided that?" he asked crossing his arms.

Who the fuck talks to their boss that way?

Alex shook his head. "I did. Now treat her well. I like this one." He smiled at me "Don't worry, he's a lot nicer then he seems. I'll see you later Hailey." and with a finally smile and a wink, he walked away.

I took a deep breath and turned towards Shane. He glared at me, studying me before pushing his door fully in. "Get in before I change my mind."
