(Nothing exciting happens in this story, it's just a sweet little thing to read if you feel like some Senry- I'm hopelessly romantic, so prepare to cringe)

"Hurry up Sam!" Henry was waiting outside at the car, bright rays of sunshine illuminating his face. The weather forecasts had promised a warm summer day, and so far that indeed seemed to be the case. The dark-haired animator leaned against the quickly heatening metal of the car door, checking his watch; they wanted to leave for the beach early to avoid traffic, but his partner was taking forever.

After a few minutes Samuel finally emerged from the front door, closing it behind him. "You can't rush perfection." He smirked vainly at the smaller man, who rolled his eyes. "Thanks to your vanity we'll be stuck in traffic for half of the day!" Sammy sighed and got behind the steering wheel, waiting for Henry to get aboard the car as well. "Don't act like you always get ready that fast; showering alone takes you two hours!"

The animator gave the taller man a teasing push before closing the car door. "Alright alright, just get driving already!" He was in a good mood, looking forward to spending this free day with his partner. They obviously couldn't be affectionate with each other in public, but it would still be nice to be together with Sammy. Henry gently put his hand on the other man's leg, smiling up at him. "All that work paid off though, you look great Sam."
The musician smirked confidently. "I always look great darling." Secretly he wasn't as confident as he liked to act sometimes, and appreciated Henry's compliment greatly. Samuel looked over at the smaller man, now smiling as well. "You look handsome as well darling, but you always do." This made the animator blush intensely and giggle a bit. "You're too sweet Sam."

Luckily, they were able to avoid most of the traffic, and arrived at the beach after about half an hour. It was still rather quiet, and Henry got out, opening the car boot and getting their stuff: swimwear, sunscreen, towels, books and lord knows what. After getting out as well, Samuel locked the car, and considering the beach was still pretty much empty, he took Henry's hand and intertwined it with his own, smiling down at the smaller man before walking with him to the wooden cubicles to change.

After they both had their swimwear on, they made their way towards the sea, placing their towels in a nice spot first. "Last one in the water has to cook for an entire week!" Sammy sprinted away already, but despite being smaller, Henry was slightly faster, and arrived at the shore first. "Shame on you Lawrence!" Samuel pouted for a moment before pushing his partner into the water completely, grinning malevolently. Henry was easily knocked over by the stronger man and went head-under before managing to get up again. "Oh you'll pay for that Sam!" He attempted to pull the musician in the water as well, but Sammy just laughed and had no trouble to keep standing, before he decided to be fair and let himself drop into the cool water, pulling Henry with him.

They stayed in the water for about half an hour, having swimming competitions like they were little kids; Sammy kept on winning, since he obviously possesed much more strenght than the fragile animator, but after a while they both got exhausted and made their way back to their towels to relax for a bit. The music director went to get drinks for the both of them, and Henry just settled down in the warm sand, closing his eyes as he felt the sun radiating warmth onto his body, waiting for his partner to return.

They just laid down for a few hours, reading, talking and resting a bit, before Henry suggested that they'd get some ice cream, an idea which was received with much enthusiasm by his partner. They walked to the boulevard side by side, wishing they could just hold hands in public, but keeping their distance because they knew people wouldn't accept it. Once at the ice cream parlour they both got their favourite flavour, and Henry paid this time, much to the dismay of the musician.

Sitting on a bench at the boulevard together, they watched the people pass by as they enjoyed their cold treat. The crowd was beginning to thin out however, and the sun was about to set as well. As they walked back to their towels, the beach was pretty much deserted again. Sammy smirked as he got hold of Henry's shoulders, making the smaller man face towards him. "Now that we're basically alone again..." He leaned in to softly kiss his partner, making the animator blush heavily before kissing back. "Such a charmer." Henry smiled up at the taller man, still blushing as he gently took his hand again. The both of them continued walking back to fetch their belongings, the setting sun giving their sun-touched faces a slight orange glow, wishing every day could be as wonderful as this one.
