I Cant Believe This Is Happening[On Hold]

Chapter 7

When we got to the dinner table it was all tension. No one talked. No one looked at each other. The only sound was utensils hitting plates and the breathing of everyone. Everyone just sat at the table eating. Everyone but Mr Conner. It had been ten minutes into dinner and he still hadn't showed. I wonder if hes avoiding everyone.

"Where Isacc is, Camiel?" My mother asked breaking the silence. No one answered. We just kept eating, acting like we didn't hear her. She opened her mouth to repeat, I'm guessing, but another voice interrupted her.

"I'm right here." Mr Conner said, taking his seat at the head of the table. "Sorry I'm late. I had some paper work to finish."

I looked at him and noticed that his nose was slightly red and had light bruises under his eyes. I chuckled at the sight. "Is there something you would like to share with the rest of us, LaurenJames?" Mr Conner said, glaring at me.

I simply smiled. "Well I was curious as to how you got those bruises under your eyes and a red nose, Isacc." I said returning his glare. 

I tear my heart open

I sew myself shut.

A my weakness is

that I care too much.

My phone interrupted whatever he was going to say. "Excuse me, Mrs Conner." I said asking for permission to leave. She nodded and I exited the room and walked out the back door. "Hello?" I said answering the phone.

"Hey, Its Luci. What you up to James?" I hear Luci say over the phone.

"The most awkward dinner in my whole life." I say with a sigh.

There is a slight pause. "You didn't stab anyone did you?"

"Not exactly." I say scratching the back of my head.

"LaurenJames, what. Did. You. Do?" He said in a serious tone.

I turn and notice everyone looking through the window at me from the table. "I hit Isacc." I said in a small voice.

"YOU DID WHAT?!?" Luci screamed, making me pull the phone back to save my ears. "Are you fucking crazy?" he said lower and concerned. "Why did you do that? Do you have a death wish!"

"He started it, Luci. Hes the one that called to talk to me then assumed that I knew what he wanted to talk about and just blew up when I told him that I didn't know. You know how I get when people yell at me." I said defending myself.

He sighed. "Well I'm coming over. I'm getting in the car right now. Talk to you in a bit."

"Kay bye, Luci." I said walking back to the house and hanging up. I walk back into the dinning room and back to my seat at the table beside Kenith. "Thank you, Mrs Conner." I say with a smile and continue eating.

"Are you going to share who that was?" Mr Conner asked in a rude tone.

I smiled at him. "Are you going to share the story about what happened to your face?" I answered with the same tone.

"That is none of your business, girl." he said with venom in his words.

"Isacc!" Mrs Conner exclaimed. "Do not talk to her like that!"

"No, its ok Mrs Conner. I would be butt hurt too if I got two black eyes and a bloody nose by sons fiancee." I say with a smile to her and a glare to Mr Conner.

She looked surprised. "You hit him, LaurenJames?" she asked. I nodded. "Why?" she asked, amazed.

"Long story short. He wanted to talk to me. He thought I knew why and he just flipped out when I said I didn't. I walked away after telling him not to talk to me like hes crazy and not to curse at me. He grabbed my arm when I walked away. I told him to let go or he'll be sorry he didn't believe me." I say with a shrug.
