Since You two were kids, you were inseparable. You both met each other at the same Ice rink. You two had races, at least you both were competitive! Really from that day forward, you both would make plans to see each other, even if it was just to skate. As a kid, Yuri couldn't have his hair cut, which was an arrangement of his grandpa. His grandpa was an awesome man, well he's older now, but he's still the same soul. You reassured that Yuri's hair looked nice, and after a while... You believed it too...
