I stabbed my pencil into the tree branch I was sitting on and said, "god Jay, I hate social norms of high school."
"Same," Jay replied, "everyone's so judgmental."
"I know! Sometimes I just wanna wear red overalls to school and not get shunned. I don't know just like, randomly." I pulled the pencil from the bark and inspected the broken tip.
"Okay I have an idea." Jay looked at me wildly, "it's called, project S-U-N."
"uh Jay what..sun?" I said.
"It stands for social un-norms." he raised his eyebrows. "Every week we will wear something crazy, totally against social norms. Likeeee I don't know snow boots and shorts. Just to see what people do and say. I mean someone was the first person to wear vans or ripped jeans."
"wait, wait Jay you might be onto something. I like that idea!" I jumped down from my branch and met him on the ground where he was sat up against the tree trunk.
"I know right! I'm not useless after all!"
"Haha that's a shock."
"What do you say, tomorrow we wear knee high socks pulled over top of our pants." Jay smiled.
"Ewwww that's an awful look!" I cringed.
"Exactly."
"ok I'm down if you are." I said.
"Yes I am." Said jay grabbing his man purse that held his camera and skipping off down the road.
He was a weird kid. But he was my best friend.
