I walked up the grand stairs leading to the front doors of the school. West LeJing HighSchool was no different than any other high school across America. Unfortunately.
"Jay!" I heard a faint scream behind me and turned to see Becca.
"Oh. Hey Becca." I say enthusiastically. NOT.
Becca and I used to be BFFs back in middle school. She helped me trick everyone into thinking I was straight and I helped her trick everyone into thinking she wasn't a virgin. Do I have to explain why I dumped her for Ang? Anyway now shes like the most popular girl in school and I can't seem figure out why shes always trying to talk to me.
"WHat..is on your legs?" Becca widened her eyes and flared her nostrils.
"Socks."
"Well no kidding but why are they thigh high and pulled over top of your jeans Jay you're getting some weird looks and not just because of that rainbow pin on your backpack this time." Becca scolded me.
"You haven't seen this trend?..It's all over Instagram. I don't know who started it but Camella Cabello tweeted about it." I knew saying it was a trend would get her off my ass.
"Oh. Wait maybe I did see something like that.
Mary!" And with that Becca was off with some other fake blonde.
I went down the hall to my locker where Ang was waiting for me.
"What took you so long? I've been getting the oddest stares!" She said looking around nervously.
"Same." I rolled my eyes. "You look cute though, I think we could really start something here."
"What do you mean?" Ang looked puzzled.
"Well I ran into Becca-"
"Becca Ruster?" Ang screamed alarmed."
"Sh! Yes! And she asked about my socks-"
"Well what did you say?"
"Hang on hang on I'm getting there. I told her its a trend someone started and Camilla Cabello tweeted it and it went viral."
"What? Jay you lied?" she put her hand on her forehead as if she might pass out.
"Ang its no big deal who cares,"
"I care, what if she checks and finds out its a lie!"
"She won't. Just trust me."
The bell rings and we both jump.
"Darn gotta skedaddle to History."
"Seeya," Ang waves and we go our separate ways.
