We may have different features; this person has blue eyes. This other person has brown eyes. Are we going to abuse the person with brown eyes because he has a different eye color? NO0O0O0O0O0O00O0O0OO0O0OO0OOO0!
Let's put it this way. Say someone's heterosexual. They're holding no flag. Cool, right? That heterosexual person thinks that flags are weird and stupid but it's fine because we RESOECT his opinion. Then a gay person comes into view holding a rainbow flag. Nowadays, the heterosexual person would abuse that gay person. Insult that gay person for what flag he/she is holding up. But... it's just a flag. We shouldn't bully someone over a flag... BUT SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT EVERYONE SHOULD BE THE SAME!
