Bryan's P.O.V

Ace walks in, and hasn't brushed his hair, leaving it in some kind of neat mess. Polly walks in with a pot that is releasing steam from the lid and a pleasant aroma that brings drool to the mouth,

"Mornin' Polly!" I greet as she begins to give two scoops of Sloppy Joe to the 5 people at this table, since the dinning area is pretty full with squadrons, mine being one of them,

"Good morning, glad to see you make it back unharmed Ace." She replies as she gives Ace his scoops,

"Glad to be back Polly, I couldn't miss your cooking." Ace replied with a grateful smile,

"Eat up before your flattery gets the best of you." I butt in,

"Your just jealous of my perfection." Ace responds before taking a spoon,

"Actually I'm not." I knock back as I take a spoon of my own and begin to eat,

Jake and Valery giggle amongst themselves at our teases,

"You amused Jake?" I ask my Lieutenant,

"Yes Sir." Jake responds admittedly before eating,

"Touché." Mark states with a smile as he also eats.

We eat our food in silence as we seem to be in deep thought, while a few whispers are passed by Valery and Ace, the only two apart from Mark and Jake that I consider a family. Though Ace was a bit of a nuisance when they first arrived, not wanting to be under command of anyone, but later on, upon discovering the Red Ace on him, seemed to make him a leader of his own. Even though I'm a commander of a squadron of 8, Jake being second in command of it, I never really understood the ranking, seeming as the less numbers you have on yourself, the higher rank you are, but we all have a black spade tattooed somewhere on our bodies, being the marking of this particular gang.

If Ace would have had a Crimson Diamond, or red diamond, then he would have been thrown in a cell and questioned, or even put to death. Same with Golden Hearts or Sapphire Clubs, ever since they've gone to war with each other, while the Government, or Royals having the most power, while a rebellion known as The Jokers, even though a gang of their own, seem to hate everyone and steal and abuse any gang member found wandering the streets of Las Vegas.

The Scorn are just a nuisance in the poorer sectors, and even on the outer walls of the city, where the majority of the gangs are found. But we've never had as smart and skilled of a runner like Ace. Though I've only spoken to the Captain a spars number of times, she seemed to have a liking in a person like Ace, him being with a unique marking and all.

"Ace, the Captain would like to speak to you after breakfast.." I casually say as I take a final spoon of my food and wipe my mouth,

"Wait what?" Ace asked surprised looking at Valery who gave him the same look as he did,

"You heard me, now finish up, I'll wait in the hall before her office," I reply getting up and heading off, "and Lieutenant, when I return you better be with the others training.."

"Yes Sir!" Jake replies with a salute, before finishing his bowl and heading off, Mark, heading off to his work.

Ace approaches me as I stand up from a chair, then gives me a nod as I nod back, then I knock on the door,

"This is General Bryan!" I call out, the door opens and Ace and I walk in and salute the Captain,

"Sit down you two.." She pauses to dismiss her assistant, who walks out with a bow before closing and locking the door,
