Dear Lee Jihoon,
How's it going, fellow shortie? Are you still threatening to hit interns with your guitar? I hope you've grown out of that by now, and if you haven't, oh well. Old habits never die I guess. And speaking of habits, how is your career working out? Being a producer of a big time company must be thrilling. It always was when you were still making music back at our old job. Oh, the memories.
Like when you accidentally dropped a really important CD, and blamed it on me because I was new. Or when we were fighting in the break room and could be heard throughout the whole store. When our boss got so fed up with us, he forced us to spend the whole day together.
I still remember that. It was one of my most favorite days. I recall how we refused to talk to each other during the first hour, until you suddenly said that we should get ice cream. Not wanting to be alone, I followed you to the shop nearby. It was filled with a bunch of children, and you even took the time to play with some. I just stood from the side, watching you in awe.
You paid for both of our ice creams even though I insisted on paying for mine. No big deal, you called it, and that made me swoon a bit. We ate our treats in silence at one table, watching our surroundings and avoiding having to talk to each other. You finished yours first, and waited for me to finish mine before leading us out.
You asked me where I wanted to go next, and I said it didn't matter. You sent a nod in response, starting to walk in a different direction. I quickly followed after you, and we somehow ended up in front of the movie theaters. You bought for the both of us again, even when I made my protests very clear. You told me that I could pay for the food instead, and I agreed, not wanting to have you spend your money anymore.
After the movie, it was already dark. The sun had set, and it was time for us to go our separate ways. You offered to walk me home, but I denied.
And then that was it. I walked towards the direction of my home, and you did the same to yours.
It wasn't until I arrived at home that I started to process everything that happened that day. You acted like a gentlemen being nice to his date. We did things that people usually did on a date. So I guess, in my mind the day registered as a date.
Which led me to like you.
The next day at work we surprisingly did great together. No arguments or anything. Our boss even praised us at our newly found teamwork. We felt proud of the bond we created from yesterday's events.
I was still hung up on what yesterday meant. And I had hoped you were too. But you weren't.
Weeks had passed since I started liking you, when I finally decided to confess. It took me a long time to gain the courage, and when I finally did, my hopes were high.
