The Spiky Spikeweed deals more damage to Zombies it ensnares, but only a few can be deployed at a time.

Spiky Spikeweed is an alternate ability to the Chomper's Spikeweed ability. The difference between the spikeweeds is that the Spiky Spikeweed is more visible and has less health than Spikeweed, but the victim gets snagged longer and receives 70 damage, instead of 25 per hit. The only way to unlock this ability is by purchasing sticker packs. Like most of the other alternate abilities, it was first introduced in the Garden Variety DLC. It takes 60 seconds to recharge one Spiky Spikeweed. The player can only have two though, versus the regular Spikeweed's four.

Potato Mines force Zombies to look down. If a Zombie sets foot on a Potato Mine, it will explode and they will experience the full force of a "SPUDOW!"

Potato Mine is an ability of the Cactus in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. It is placed like a Proximity Sonic Mine. It has the same ability as it has in the main series of the games it appears in. When one or more zombies get close to it, it explodes and deals 175 damage to all zombies caught in the blast radius, with damage fall-off applied at distance.

The Potato Mine's weakness is that it can be detonated prematurely by zombies by shooting at it. It takes 30 seconds to recharge one Potato Mine, and the Cactus can hold up to three at a time.

The alternate abilities of this ability are the Potato Nugget Mine, and the Pizzazzling Potato Mine (Garden Warfare 2 only).
