"it's alexis! let me in, bitch!" alexis shouted from outside of the door.

"calm down! i'm coming!" arty shouted.

"nova, who are you texting?" cat asked, leaning over on the couch to peek at her phone.

"who do you think?" she rolled her eyes, laughing.

after finishing my makeup, i walked into the living room.

"thoughts?" i spun around, showing off my outfit.

"love the shirt!" alexis clapped.

"you're a stunner," nova smiled.

"so is this a date?" cat asked, shutting off her phone.

"i'm pretty sure it's not," i sat down on the couch next to nova, who was texting jonah, in fact.

"i think mine is a date," alexis jumped. "which leaves me with this question. this or this?"

she held up two shirts. we each voted on them until she was happy. she went and changed, and then sat back down on the couch.

"we should really all live together. we're always here together anyways," nova got up, walking to the kitchen. "water anyone?" she opened the fridge.

"and you know where everything is," arty pointed out. "and i'll have one."

"i'm sixteen? are we forgetting that? my parents would kill me," cat said. "besides, you can legally move out until you're eighteen?"

"and you also can't have sex with a person over eighteen, but guess what—that's bullshit. no one listens to that law," alexis stuck her finger in the air.

"is that supposed to hint at something else?" nova smirked, handing arty her water.

"duh, do you even know alexis?" arty said, opening the water and taking a sip.

"do you guys know where you're going tonight? or is it a surprise?" cat asked.

"i don't know, and i'm kind of nervous about it. he texted me that he was coming three hours earlier," i said.

"that means you're probably going exploring or something," cat said. "one of my exes did that and he took me on a four mile hike up a mountain. key word: ex."

"i like hikes!" i smiled.

"yeah, well i do not," cat shrugged.

"daniel is artsy, it's probably a tour of the city or something," arty leaned back.

"or he's extra kinky," alexis shrugged. nova slapped her shoulder.

"anyway," alexis laughed. "jack told me to dress nice-casual."

"what does that even mean?" nova asked.

"well, nice because he wants her to look good. and casual because it's easier to rip off," cat held back a laugh.

"he must be wild as hell because the only thing that leads to is handcuffs," nova replied.

"i wouldn't mind," alexis leaned back into the couch, smirking.

"wait, what? it's 4:55?" i stood up abruptly.

"i thought you knew," nova said.

"no! which pair of sneakers?" i pointed to the ground where all my shoes were and ran to my room to grab socks.

"these," arty said, tossing a pair at me.

"i can't believe you're wearing sneakers," alexis mumbled.
