Log 1
Through the vastness of the world, mankind has discovered the 7 continents. They've discovered mountains, volcanos, lakes, wildlife, and so much more. They've discovered the moon, mars, gas giants, dwarf planets, and millions of galaxies other than our own. They've discovered artificial intelligence, autonomy, robots with emotions, mechanical pets, chips in your brain you can buy groceries with, and so much more.
Although this is true, they've yet to discover a colossal amount more than they already have.Right? There can't just be an end point, can there?
A few years ago I lost my sister to what is informally known as the "Death Forest", that appeared mysteriously and cut off the entire coast of California about a decade ago.
I've set out now towards the forest, which by now has allegedly killed approximately 2,637 people. It's said to lure people in somehow, but there's no real evidence proving so.
I'll be making another log once I get to California, and into the forest.

Log 2
I've gotten to California now, and my friend from college, Ashton Herix opted to tag along.
We bought more supplies. We got a tent and some food just in case we had to stay the night in the forest, though I highly doubt we will.

Log 3
We're heading in now. There was a huge fence about a mile back from here, about 10 feet tall and covered in barbed wire. Usually that would be considered a heck of an obstacle, but someone had cut a door length piece of the fence out near the side, and apparently whoever built it had been neglecting it so long they never even noticed. So... we just headed through.
The forest is dark. Really dark. The leaves look almost pitch black, it's really odd. It's like a squid spat it's ink all over the forest.
There was no luring though... no sounds, no sights, no smells, no nothing. If anything, it was repelling our entry. I wonder if that's because we already had a reason to be going in...
