&& . DINNER IS SERVED !
THE GANG used to be inseparable. they'd call adelaide's home their sacred haven for their own personal secrets and it's the home for trust. they were all just close that everyone in school wishes they were them. they'd sit in the same lunch tables in the quad, to share or just feast on jim hopper's one-person meal. they were happy little pals, and were pretty lucky to be able to have each other's backs.
of course the story just doesn't end there.
one drunken night from one of adelaide's sleepovers: they all fled to hawkins high and got even more drunk over there. drinking, smoking, screaming. they were blasting music in the halls and the principle's office, screaming into the speakers to the mic and slamming school chairs against the boards and the plaque cases.
in other words, they simply did not give a fuck about the outcome for the school the next day.
they danced on top of tables in the cafeteria and ripped off books in the library. joey even broke in to adelaide's locker to find a vibrator hanging around.
but this whole time, they didn't know someone was still at school. but of course, considering how intoxicated they were, they simply thought he was an intruder coming to kill them. with a gun found under a teacher's desk adam hopper shot the man who looked like the devil in the shadows. his blood splattered against the walls, and his body slammed on the shards coming from the broken windows.
when they got a better view, they realized he was simply harmless. a school janitor, who was only finishing up cleaning the restrooms and was ready to go home,
knowing they would be in deep trouble, the gang swore to never speak of it.
the girls cleaned off the blood and the boys sweeped the glasses on the floots. jim hopper threw the gun to loch nora, and calmed his brother down as much as possible in the process.
the body? good thing they were smart enough to hide it in a cemetery.
the school? well, obviously it's still fucked up.
the next day the police claimed they didn't get any evidences on who's broken into school, so is them getting any hints that somebody even died there. when the gang met up, they almost threw they guts up, even had the lack of incentive to look adam hopper in the eye.
the whole gang who used to be inseparable? now, sat on different tables. joey and adelaide? complicated. lola and adam? extremely complicated. joyce and hopper? well, they did find a staircase to let off some steam. but they swore to never even talk about it. jim even begged not to be asked whether adam's doing great or not.
of course, that story's twenty years old.
the six rebel-without-a-cause gang who strutted hawkins high are now ancient history. where are they now?
jim hopper, who used to be the stuck up alcoholic senior boy is now the town's chief of police.
his younger brother , adam hopper , who used to be a sex - crazed moron and was famous for sleeping with a teacher , is now an architect in brooklyn.
joyce byers, who really hasn't changed, became a hands-on mother to her wonderful kids and works in a general store.
his younger brother, sebastian horowitz, who was a self - entitled asshole, became one of the publishers for the new york times newspaper.
the lady in pink lola reed , a strong american beauty , is now an excellent doctor working in the hawkins laboratories.
chaotic good, goth goddess adelaide richards is . . . still a chaotic good, goth goddess adelaide richards . . .
&& joey harrington, who considers himself the god of sex, simmered down and stepped up as a father to today's hawkins high's famous steve harrington . . . kinda.
THEY WENT IN THEIR SEPARATE ways right after getting their high school diplomas. no one really knew why, and no one wants to blame anybody fot having it be that way. it was funny enough that it was just fate who brought them together to later destroy them apart.
by then, lola reed and the hoppers moved out to seperate states to pursue something they want ( lola reed had another motif of leaving, but not everyone's aware of it ), joyce byers and joey harrington married their supposed high school partners, while addy richards wished to continue living in peace with her kittens. later on the ones who left came back, although adam hopper chose to stay in brooklyn considering he still wasn't over their high school tragedy. & for twenty years, neither of the old gang waved a greeting or became glad to bump into each other. it was just cold. blank. nasty secrets flashing against their eyes whenever they come to even think about it. it was terrible, horrible. perhaps some of them couldn't even sleep at night.
WHEN JIM ANNOUNCED his brother adam was coming to visit hawkins, they were all surprised simply because the whole town thought he died after he got shot back in brooklyn.
ironic, isn't it?
joyce wanted to make his return seem a little special, contacting each and everyone in the old gang to come over for dinner to welcome their old pal who they haven't heard from in more than two decades. joyce was just relieved everyone has agreed to come. she was only glad they were mature enough to do this to begin with.
now, they waited for the guests to arrive, with joyce finishing up setting the clean plates on their positions and hopper helping out with the lasts of the dirty ones.
