chapter 2-meeting callie

I awoke with a start. Not really knowing why. But got up anyway to get ready for school. Once I had gotten dressed I made my way into the hall to the kitchen for breakfast. Only to be pulled back by my brother who stated noogieing me."mornin fuzzhead". "Tyler let go of me" I said struggling to get away. But sadly since he was older he was also stronger,I couldn't move."Ok fine. Any way how'd you sleep fuzzhead". "Fine" I said brushing my self off and heading to the kitchen. Tyler followed right behind me. "Morning mom" both me and Tyler said at the same time. "Good morning. Did you guys sleep well" she said putting a steak on each of our plates. "I slept fine. Something scared me awake but I'm fine" I said pouring myself some juice. "Didn't get that much sleep actually. Was up all night studying for my algebra test" Tyler said as i watched him shove 5 pieces of steak into his mouth. "Oooh better not fail. If you do you'll look like an idiot" I said sticking my tongue out at him. He glared at me "that's the best you've got". "Well I don't have a lot of time to think of stuff. So.... hpm" I said crossing my arms. "Ok guys that is enough you guys. Now get going" mom said rushing them out. "Come on fuzzhead I'll drive you" Tyler said craving his keys. "No thanks. I'm going to walk with Hunter" I said grabbing my bag.
"I can't belive you hangout with that vampire. He is so weak" Tyler said with annoyance in his voice. "Hey he is not. He is really nice and if he had to he would hurt someone" I said sticking up for him. "Now if you don't mind he should be outside waiting for me" and with that I left.
When I got outside I didn't see Hunter. "Hunter you there" I called into the yard. Then I just saw a pair of red eyes jump at me. Then I was on the ground. "Oww. Hunter what the hell" i said rubbing the back of my head. "Sorry callie. But I had to do that you scare me all the time" he said helping me to my feet. "I geuss that makes sense. Come on let's go and where's Helen"I said as I stared to walk to the street. "she is sick" he said rubbing his neck. "Again that is the 3 time this week. She need to go to a docter" I said looking at him with concern and worry in my eyes. He hugged me "it ok. Everything is going to be fine. We aren't going to lose her like we lost Karen". I hugged him back and began to cry "sorry I'm such a crybaby. I should be a stronger" i said pulling away and wiping my eyes. "No it's ok. If you need to cry you can always come to me and Helen. I promise we will never leave you" he said reassuring me. "Thanks Hunter. Now let's get to school before were late" she said running toward the school. "Hey wait up. I'm not as fast as you"he said running to catch up to me. " can't you fly" I said looking back. "Oh yeah" then he flew and stayed in pace with me. Then we went to class.
