Avery's POV
I don't even know why I'm acting like this. Its not even that big of a deal, all she did was try and keep me from doing what I'm doing now. She's never gonna want to speak to me ever again. She had tried to comfort me and I pushed her. I didn't push her hard, I don't think. I looked up from the ground to see her. Laying there, not moving, barley breathing.
"What did I do." I said to myself. "What am I supposed to do. Call 911" I pulled my phone out of my pocket. "What's 911s number? 9-1-1." I dialed the number in record breaking time. The paramedics where here in less than 2 minutes.
A few hours later I was at the police station. "What happened today?" the officer said to me. Most people think when you go in for questioning, its like the movies. There's a dark room, 2 big cops, and one little lamp. But its actually a big open room, 2 investigators, and 1 cop in uniform.
"We where talking about moving in together. She thought it was crazy, so after we talked-"
"Was there any auguring in this talk."
"No we have never argued about anything. The one time we do, its over something foolish. But after we talked I went down stairs to get something to drink. I came back upstairs and she was talking to her brother, David."
"Can he confirm that?"
"Yes he can. But I stood out side the door and listened to her. Just me being noise. She said she had been living with him for the past 2 months, and that us moving in together would be foolish. Which I thought about it and I had agreed it was. When she said goodbye to her brother. I walking in the room, I could see the fake smile on her face. I knew she felt bad for lying. I told her that her brother wanted me to bring her home, even though he didn't. Then she told me everything and I freaked out. I fell to the ground and yelled at her."
"When did you hit her?"
"I didn't mean to. She was trying to make me feel better but I pushed her away. It was just supposed to be a small push just to get her off. But she hit her head on the dresser."
"Did she go into the coma right when she hit her head or did she say something?"
"Yes she said something but I couldn't hear her."
"Okay thank you. You can leave now."
I got up and left the police station. I got in my car and drove off. I went to the hospital and asked if I could go see Becca Paterson, room 142. The lady at the front desk said she hasn't woke up yet but I can go see her. I ran up the stares instead of the elevator, it would be faster.
When I got there I walked into the room to see her whole soccer team, her mom, her dad, and David. I ignored all of them and walked up to her. Everyone had flowers and balloons. The soccer team was confused as why a student on a competitors team was here. But they would soon find out.
"You shouldn't be here." her mom said to me. "Its my fault she's here. I will be the first person to talk to her. Its my job to tell her I'm sorry." I said and walked away from her. I walked to her bed side and I got on one knee like we do on the soccer field when some is hurt.
The soccer team caught on and did the same. I grabbed her hand and kissed it. "I love you Becca Paterson. I'm sorry for everything I did, what I said to you was the worst things I have ever said to you or anyone. Its my fault you are here, I would do anything to trade places with you now." I stood up and kissed her lips.
"What are you doing? My daughter is not some gay person like you. You can not love her or kiss her." her father said pulling me back from her. "You kicked her out of your house. You made her live with her brother. Your the reason we had a argument in the first place. You are the reason she is here now."
I walked away after saying that. I stood next to her bed holding her hand. Her mother and father went to go get some dinner about a hour later. "Your the girl that was staring at Becca that whole soccer game. Your the one she never realized." Some player on the soccer team said.
I didn't talk just nodded. I had tears running down my face slowly. "Now your going out?" she said. I just nodded again. Did she not tell anyone about us? Maybe I shouldn't of said all that.
