Wake Up Call (Chapter 1)

It’s a cold morning today; the smell of fresh bread and freshly brewed coffee makes me hungry. I get up, Wash up and get dressed for breakfast. I saw my mom with my sister waiting for me to get up, in the Dining Room. My mom, Katie, was cooking some eggs. I went up to her and said “Mom, are you okay?” I saw her eyes filled with despair and sorrow. I asked her “Why are you sad, Mom?” and she replied “You’re moving out tomorrow, Tomorrow you’re 18” she paused and continued “I won’t get to see the little girl who kept on asking questions.” Then my mom broke down and cried. Then my little sister, Kat, comforted mom by patting her back and singing to her; then she told me “I want you to stay, we all want you to stay.” Now tears are fogging up my eyes. She continued, “Coleen, why do you have to leave?” she almost cried then continued saying “Don’t you love me and mother anymore?” Holding her chin, I replied “Of Course I do! Why would I want to leave you?” Then Kat said, “If you don’t why do you have to go and leave me and mom.” I told her “I really don’t want to, but I already have a house.” Then Kat said, “Can we at least help you pack your things.” I said “Sure, you can even put some of your toys in my bag, so I can remember you.” Then my mother said “Can I put some albums in your bag too?” I told my mom “Sure, mum! I’d love that!” they smiled and went up the stairs “Wait!” I said to them. They said “What?” “Nothing” I replied. They continued to my room, I followed them and brought out my bags. My mom opened my closet and started to get all of clothes, leaving a few clothes that doesn’t fit me anymore; for my little sister. “Are you sure you don’t want to keep this?” my little sister said while holding up my purple Justin Bieber hoodie jacket. I remember the first time I wore that hoodie in his concert. “Oh, I almost forgot that!” I told my little sister while grabbing it from her hand. “Thanks for reminding me!” Then my little sister was collecting all of my posters and shoes and putting them in my bag. Suddenly there was a knock on my door. Then my little sister started screaming, “I’ll get it!” She said it was for me. I went down and saw my 2 friends, Gabby and Renee. I told them to get in. Then my sister locked the door; After Gabby and Renee started screaming, “Happy Advanced Birthday, Coleen!” Then they brought out 3 Believe tickets with 3 backstage passes. I started screaming with them, shouting, “Oh my Gosh! Oh my Gosh! Oh my Gosh!” Then Gabby said “And, we get to meet One Direction!” Then she started screaming by herself with Renee. I shouted, “Thank you guys so much!” They said, “No big. That’s what friends do!” I stared at my ticket trying to find what row are we in; I looked closely and found out we’re in row 1 VIP! And it’s tomorrow afternoon! I say to them, “Hey guys, it’s getting late.” Renee looks at her watch, and then says “Wow! Yeah it is getting pretty late, see you guys tomorrow, bye!” Gabby and I say, “Bye, be safe!” She replies, “Yeah, will do! Bye” “Bye!” I say with Gabby. I hear my mom calling me, “Coleen, Coleen!” I answer, “Yes?” I put my ticket in my pocket, and I put my backstage pass around my neck. I tell Gabby to stay in the Living Room. She pulled my arm when I was about to follow my mother’s voice. “Ouch!” I scream. “Why’d you do that?” I ask her. She says, “Can I come with you?” She asked me. I said “Okay, but hurry up!” She replied “Okay.” She ran to the stairs with me, I found my mom with my purple Supras and my “Mrs. Bieber” shirt that I wore to his last concert here. She hands it to me while saying “Here you go Mrs. Bieber. Don’t forget these.” Then she smiles at me, I smile back. I placed them in my bag. I told her, “Take good care of Kat, Promise?” She nods. “Mom, have you seen Derek? [My little brother, He’s older than Kat] She says, “No, have you checked his room?” I shake my head. “I’ll go check” I tell her. “Gabby, come with me to Derek’s room, Please” She says, “Sure.” I find Derek STILL sleeping, even though it’s already 4p.m. I shake him. He doesn’t wake up, but he groans not in pain though. I scream at him, “Derek! It’s already 4p.m.! I’m moving out tomorrow! Tomorrow is my birthday!” That seems to wake him up; he suddenly sits at the edge of his bed. “You’re moving out?” I nod. He says just as he sees Gabby, “Is that Gabby?” I nod. He runs to Gabby with extended arms. I forgot he has a HUGE crush on Gabby. Gabby moves right when he was about to hug her. He hits the wall. He groans in pain. Gabby and I laugh at him. My mom suddenly came in the room and asks, “What happened to Derek?” I say, “Who are you talking to? Me?” She says, “Yes, Coleen.” I reply, “He hit the wall,” I suddenly laugh. She tells me, “Oh, I remember he had a crush on Gabby!” I tell her, “Correction he STILL has!” Gabby can’t help but laugh and blush! I ask Gabby, “Where’s your ticket?” She replied, “In my pocket.” I ask her, “And your backstage pass?” She puts out the pass that was tucked in her shirt. She says “Here!” I say, “Good.” Then she asks my mom if she and Renee could sleepover tonight. My mum says, “Yes.” We call Renee and tell her about the sleepover thing. I told her to bring her clothes for the concert. Gabby asked if she could go to her house and get her things. I nod. Good thing, her house is just beside mine! We’re neighbors! Just before Gabby left Renee was knocking on the door Gabby answered the door. Renee seems all packed up, She seems a little shocked that Gabby is still in my house, She finally said something, she said, “Sup!” Gabby says “What’s up, dude?” Renee came into the house, Gabby came dashing out and ran into her house, I see her packing her things and then ran into my house. I said, “Sup, bro” She did not reply but went into the house. I told them where we were going to stay. I think it was the first time they saw my bedroom, because they seemed shocked. Gabby said, “What is he doing here?” I see Derek brush his hair using my PINK brush! I scream at him, “What are you doing?” he says “I’m brushing my hair, what else do you think I’m doing?” I say, “Using my PINK brush, that’s what I see!” He puts down the brush and hugs Gabby. Gabby says, “Leave me alone! Get out, you annoying little squirt” Derek replies, “How am I a squirt? I’m taller than you! Gabby said, “I don’t care! I already have a boyfriend!” Derek tries to hold his tears he grasps my hand and tells me “Is it true, Coleen?”
