An Angel

Its year 2000
The night sky over the city of Detroit a little girl sleeping in a house or attempting to sleep. She gets out of her bed a opens her door to a dark hallway, "Not this time monsters " she whispers as she snaps her fingers and a small flame appears on her index finger. She slowly walks down the hall to a staircase with a light at the end. "Mommy?" She cried out but revived no response and began walking down the stairs. As she continues she could feel the hairs on the back off her neck starting to stand up, she quickly whirled around to see nothing " Why are you up angel" a voice from behind states while sounding upset with her. Angel jumped from the voice only to realize it was her mother Lucy Helstone in her robe. "I couldn't sleep again" she says as she hugs moms leg " nightmares again sweetie you've been having them for months, what was it this time?" Lucy says as she smiles at angel. "It was daddy" she says with a frown " Then my school and it was on fire" said angel very quickly "It's just dreams we all know they never come true" Lucy whispers ask she rolls her eyes as she grabs angel from beneath her legs and picks her up. "How I'll tell you what, to make you feel better I'll let you run to school tomorrow " " Really!!!!!" Angel gleamed with excitement while they entered angels bedroom "Yes sweetheart just... take your ass to bed little momma I gotta get Dressed your dads getting in late but I gotta go just know you'll be home alone and the neighbors number is on the fridge okay" Lucy states as she kisses her forehead " Yes I remember mommy goodnight" Angel says in a sleepy voice while Lucy leaves the room. The next morning Angel eats breakfast with her dad Brian " Sleep well my angel" he says with his green eyes and dirty blonde hair and angel nods her head " Good your mom said you're running to school today " Brain says. "Yes I am" Angel says while jumping up and down "well go get dressed you got ten minutes" brain starts to say as he sips his coffee " I can do it in 3 minutes " she quietly says and raises three fingers, Brain turns around to see angel gone then turns back to the living room to see angel in her school uniform. " How long was that daddy?" Angel questions " uh wow like 2 maybe 4 seconds you've gotten faster Angel you got everything?" Brian says while he opens the front door as Angel nods her head as she gets into a running stance. "Ready...Set......go!!," Angel disappears with the last word said the only thing she left behind is an open door and a burning front welcome mat "great now I gotta buy another one" Brain say with a laugh and a growing smile.
