Letting go of all of all my fear and self-depreciation, I lunged at the being. They seemed even more disoriented than before and tried to hit and pry me off. I punched, kicked and bit at the figure, and knew nothing could stop me. When the being fell to the ground with a loud crunch, my victory was obvious.
"We did it! Okay, stop the twister. It's time to see who this monster really is," I ordered.
Kicking the figure in the chest allowed for them not to get up. I stood over them, bitter and unforgiving. I could see they were having trouble breathing and processing what had just happened. Guilt tried to dominate my mind, but in this moment, I couldn't allow that to happen. Their reveal was all that mattered.
"Reveal yourself! I want to see the unforgivable, hideous face that killed my father. Don't hide it anymore." I stood there, with Yatagaryu my by side.
The beaten-up form took of their mask. Revealed was a feminine face with emerald hues and thick, curly locks of teal hair. She wore thick brown frames and sported many freckles. My stomach felt as if it was in my throat. I knew exactly who that woman was. I exhaled in pure disbelief.
"Y-you... you're... Pluto's mom... but you were... but I... how could you?! You, of all people! Kill my father! WRETCHED DEVIL!" I screamed in tears.
Tattered and torn, the female stood, and approached me. Planted on her face was a dark grimace. Fear once again immobilized my form.
"You know nothing... absolutely NOTHING! The PAIN and ANGUISH I've felt for years, a decade... and YOU desire to stress me even more! Your father, that EVIL man, was going to kill the one I loved the most. The one I VOWED to protect my whole life!" The woman yelled.
Staring at her dirty, somewhat disfigured face, I noticed something in her eyes. As if something in her was crying for help.
"I sacrificed myself for him. And now, that we are- WERE finally free, you, insolent child, choose to try to STOP us?! We are hungry! We are lonely! No one came for us! No one came for CURIE. No one came for Lucille. NO ONE!" She cried out.
I stepped back as this woman, who I was now positive was Lucille, fell to her knees in agony. She struggled to get a Pokéball from her belt, and opened it. Out fell a strange, little mechanical creature. It was shaped like a bean, and had some neon green features, along with big blue eyes. But it lied still. Lifeless.
"URAYNE! Urayne... please, can you hear me?! No, no no no..." Lucille tried everything to get the being to wake, but was unsuccessful.
I could see the woman's heart hit rock bottom. Her weeping became heavier.
"I-I'm so sorry... Urayne... I failed you..." She continued.
"I failed us..."
