This woman, named Johannah I believe, turned out to be a very lovely and caring woman. She loved her daughter more than anything else, even more than herself. Diana was the only person in her life; she lost her family in a house fire, her husband disappeared after a fight, and her friends left her.
Diana was her 6th child, yes the 6th. The poor woman's first 5 attempts of pregnancy all ended up by the embryo's death in its early weeks. Diana was named after the song "Diana" by One Direction, why?, simply it was her favorite song at that time. The little child was born how her mother imagined she would look like. The eyes were magical; almond shaped, they were green sparkly. Her eyelashes; short but neat. Nose; small ( and cute :3 ). The lips; full and pinkish as a raspberry. Her face; round, and her skin tone was light and sort of yellowish. Her hair; long dark brown wavy hair with blonde strands. She was simply so beautiful, she was her mother's angel. You ask me how I knew all this information? I found an old teared paper with stains of coffee on it where Johannah put me in her small messy van. (until now no one knows i'm awake)
As for Johannah herself, she was almost an angel. Her smile on her face, like a sunshine. her daughter kept talking and talking all the time and complaining about her mates at school.
"They keep teasing me and saying I'm poor!"
"Mom they all have the new Barbie and I'm the only one who doesn't have it it's unfair!!"
"One sandwich and some water isn't enough for me mom! I want candy like my friends or at least more food please"
And the mother keeps telling her she will make all her wishes true soon but she must be patient until God makes her wishes come true.
Suddenly the van stopped. Johannah parked the van beside a place full of trash and went quickly inside a small shop that looked like it was ready to fall apart. "The street looks creepy. It's full of stray cats, homeless people, and street bullies" I thought to myself. At that moment, Diana started talking again.
"Hey pigeon, if you're not dead yet hehe..or.. I'll be weird cz I'm talking to animals. It's just I'm very sad about mom. She works in this weird small.. smelly place to get money. Since dad left, he used to borrow A LOT of money so we ALWAYS had debts that we couldn't pay. She had to search for any job as quickly as possible and she found that place. It hurts me to see my mom getting tortured by the employees. Since she is the only woman in the shop and they know she's in desperate need of the money and can do extra job to gain extra money, she gets exploited. She does almost all the work and she gets paid the least. Her main job is cleaning the floors, with an old cloth. Her rude boss doesn't ever listen to her neither the other employees. I know she's scared from borrowing money and if she left this job she won't find any other job........ I really really want to help- I forgot to tell you! Yes I go to school but not always, I get bullied there. 3 days a week I sit in a cold corner on the sidewalk and beg the passing people for money. I say it's for me to go to school but actually a huge amount of it goes to my mom. So I won't be a liar, the rest of the money I buy with it the school books, pens, and copybooks. Every month, I tell my mom that my teacher is very proud of me so she gives me money as an award ( it's actually the money I get myself ), the next day we go buy bread from the bakery. The baker loves mom so much and gives her sometimes special stuff for free! He also gets us the water we need for only 30 cents, can you believe!! Also there's ano-" she stopped talking suddenly. Johannah opened the fan, kissed her girl, and drove quickly.. sobbing. Diana sat quietly then Johannah parked the van again but near a hospital this time then left. Diana started talking again "The other thing is..." she gave a big sigh. "Mom was diagnosed with leukemia 2 years ago. As you probably guessed we cannot afford her medicine. Once every a couple of months she takes a course of medicine so..... . Today is this day" the words faded as she spoke, then she started crying. "I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY MOM! SHE'S THE ONLY ONE I HAVE IN MY DAMN LIFE". Johannah returned looking dizzy then she said "I totally forgot about the pigeon. I'll complete the course la-" she noticed her angel crying then she started crying too. They hugged each other then the mother said "Hun don't cry please you're the only person who's left for me. Let's get the birdy to the vet, then get you an ice cream cone after we finish so we can see why you were crying". Diana couldn't hold her tears much more. After the words "get-you-ice-cream" she felt heartbroken. She knew that her mom needs the money for her to recover more than anything. She was afraid to speak, to tell her mom she knew the truth., and that she also wants for her the best.
I felt completely heartbroken and I felt I had to do something. How could this angel suffer from such problems. She's so beautiful that nobody will ever have the heart to make her at least feel uncomfortable.
