Morning was finally here. I couldnt sleep all last night because all I could think about was Michael's sexy eyes. I hopped out of bed and opened the door. Michael was standing there smiling.
"Morning Emma. Did you sleep well?"
"I umm...I could barely even sleep."
"Mmm..I wonder why that is."
"You tell me butthead." I said with a smirk on my face. He laughed and stepped closer. "Because you were thinking about me." he whispered. I sighed in automatic passion. Ugh not this early please!"
"Well if you must know Ms.Emma....I couldnt sleep either. I was too busy thinking of you too." he said grabbing my hand. "Where are we going?" I asked
"Well to breakfast silly! Arent you hungry?"
Yea hungry for your lips. "I uhh yea! Come on!" I said walking down the stairs with him. We got to the table and said good morning to my mom and Gavin. "Today we're going to go out into the stables and tend to the animals. Then after you kids can have the rest of the time to yourselves." he said getting up and kissing my mom.
"Oh yea....and Jacob is coming by to help with the chickens while Gavin and I gather up veggies in the fields." my mom said smilling. I looked at Michael at he secretly smiled. I smiled back and we both got up.
"Well we can get started now! See you guys later!" he said getting up. "Wait rabbit. You're always so eager to be first!"
Michael turned around and he knew that was the go code to act like an asshole back. "Well if you would stop being a prissy princess then you would be able to keep up!" he said turning back around. I scoffed and followed him outside. My mom and Gavin shook their heads.
We were both outside and we both laughed. "Gosh you shouldve seen the look on their faces. They looked like they wanted to get rid of us." I said laughing.
"Yea we did good!" he said giggling. I gave him a high five and just then this other boy around Michael's age walked up. "Hey Mike. How are you?" he said giving him a handshake. Holy moly this guy was HOT. Michael didnt inform me on this one.
"Fine and yourself?" Michael asked back
"Just fine. Well...if it isnt the beautiful Emma-Joy. Arent you a beaut? Im Jacob, head of the animal stables. Best chicken keeper in town." he said winking. I smiled from ear to ear and Michael's facial expression changed.
"Hi...and will you show me what you do?" I said looking directly at his muscles. He smiled and grabbed my hand. "Come on little darlin, the stable's this way." he said pulling me off.

I suddenly lost my smile and grew sad. Jacob does this all the time. He always gets the girls. And the worst part is Emma and I were beginning to like each other. And I thought she didnt like being called Emma-Joy!
I walked into the stables and starting helping out with the chickens. She was all on him and he was loving the attention.
"What does this do?" she asked
"Well it gives water to the chickens. See here." he said picking up a baby chick and showing her how to feed it. She giggled and he smiled at her.
"That is SO SWEET!" she said all gooey eyed. I rolled my eyes and continued working. Pretty soon we were done and sitting on the porch. "Hey Mike do you mind if I steal Emma-Joy for a second?"
"Sure." I said looking away. She giggled and was dragged away by him again. Why do I always fall for this? It was pretty clear that I was never going to have a girl like Emma, or Melanie...or anyone for that matter. I was just a lame old farmer boy
Who needs them when you can have a womanizing hunk?
Her mom called us in for dinner and I waited to her to run back. "Hey long face....what's up?" she asked with that sweet smile. I just wanted to crawl in a hole right now.
"Nothing. Its time for dinner." I said sadly. She smiled and pulled me close to her. "I have to tell you something." she said looking into my eyes.
"What is it?" I said nervously.
"Well...first im so glad we're friends. I really do like you Michael." she said smiling. I smiled back. Yes she likes me!
"Ummm...Jacob asked me out. And I said yes. Are you mad?" she asked looking into my eyes. My smile faded and I let go out of her embrace.
"N...n...no...of course not. You two look great together." I said walking in. I walked to my room and plopped on my bed.
Suddenly...Im just not hungry anymore.
