I throw the picture frame at the wall and watch the glass shatter into a million pieces, the picture survives. Though I have something worse in store for it. I stomp to the other side of the shoebox of a bedroom. I look at the picture.

The boy with a smirk across his perfectly smooth skin and brown hair to match his brown eyes. Which are looking at a girl who his hand is draped around. The girl is dark skinned unlike the boy who is fair, she has curls in her hair that had obviously been done by a curling iron. Her brown eyes are crossed and her tongue is stuck out. This was Lucas and my 2 year anniversary at Coney Island. I want to laugh and cry.

"ZAYNIE!" My mom calls from the other side of the apartment. I don't respond I'm reliving the memory. I run my fingers over Lucas and feel the anger boil inside me. I reach the top of the picture and prepare to tear it into shreds. "TANZAYNIA!" My mom calls impatiently.

"WHAT!" I shout back.

"Kendra's here." She says a bit quieter, within seconds I here the uneven sound of shoes clicking towards my room. I turn around to see exactly what I was expecting. Kendra Quinn Lipson. My best friend for around 5 months and prior my awkward half sister's step sister. Basically, my dad was a dick who cheated on my pregnant mom with Kendra's step mom and then screwed another chick (Kendra's birth mom). Her mom left town when we were 11 and hasn't came back. Kendra's step dad. remarried about 4 years ago and we became closer.

Kendra's purple hair is straight with a black bow in her hair. Her shirt is a simple crop top with the letters "THOT" and skinny jeans that are tight enough to be painted on. Her brown eyes scan the room then hit my pillow, then back at me. She walks over to my bed and finds, the fault in our stars.

"Please tell me you didn't." Kendra says simply. I don't say anything, I only read it when I'm depressed. It's my way of saying... It could be worse. "It's not that bad! Yes he cheated," I feel a knife piercing my heart. "Sorry. But he's not good enough for you-"

"HE IS GOOD ENOUGH HE'S THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO ME, BUT IM NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM! IM NOT GOOD ENOUGH! THATS IT KENDRA!" I stand up and pick up the picture, I shove it in her face. "HE DESERVES SOMEONE WHO COULD GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTS!"

"He wants an airhead and slut. That's who he wants and your not that. Your better than that." Kendra reaches for my hand but I snatch it away and grab tfios from her other before chucking it across the room.

"How do you fucking know that!" I say, she opens her mouth then closes it. No words leave her mouth nor mine. We just stare at each other. "Get out." I mutter crawling into my bed and turning away from her.

"Zay-"

"Get OUT!" I scream.

"I came to drop this off. I hope you'll be there. It's a family members wedding. Just come with me."

"Piss off." I say before I hear the door shut and the sound of feet shuffling away. After the coast is clear I feel the urge to see if Kendra left the invite. I look at the foot of the bed and sure enough, there was an envelope with the words Tanzania written on it. The spelt my name wrong..... Again. I don't bother opening it. I pull the baby blue blanket over my head and try to fall asleep.

I can't. I need to see what's inside. I drag myself off the bed and take the envelope with me to my usual seat on the floor. Ripping open the card, I take a deep breath in. Here we go...

"You are invited to the wedding of Ava Johnson and Darren Twist." I have no idea who those people are or why they've invited me... All I know is it's tomorrow. Typical. Kendra is terrible at time management. I already know what dress to wear.... And the shoes... Weddings.... I love weddings.

I pull the blanket over my head again before closing my eyes, only to dream of Lucas.
