Metion paced back and forth in the hall, flinching at the sudden yells and noises coming from the adjacent room.
His wife was giving birth and while he held a great amount of worry for her, he felt even more concerned about his coming child. Alci was strong. She was quite the fearsome skyfarer back in the day so he felt she could handle this, but that didn't mean their child could. She's been in labor for nineteen hours and he's barely been able to relax since it's started.
Finally after hours upon hours of waiting the noise stopped. There was a deep silence for several seconds, as he held in his breath.
"WAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
"It's a boy!" One of the midwives stated happily
Metion let out a deep sigh of relief before moving to open the door and greet his baby boy and congratulate his wife.
He enters the room to see his wife, holding on to their child closely while he makes quiet noises at her.
He moves to her side and puts his fingers close to his son, watching as they clutch onto it weakly.
"He's adorable..."
"Of course, he takes after me after all," Alci says cheekily though lacking in the energy he's used to hearing her have.
There is that proud woman he's used to seeing. Still, he has some ammunition this time.
"He's a boy, y'know? That means my name won, doesn't it?"
Alci lets out a sigh.
"Yes...yes it does," she says sourly
"Oh, have the two of you already decided on a name?" Edith, the leader of the midwives and local doctor speaks up, looking pleased with her success.
"Yeah, after my grandfather. His name will be Daedalus."

Four Years Pass
-Your PoV-
Boring.
These stuffed toys kept your attention for quite a while, but like all the rest, they just seem so dull in your eyes.
Most of the fun, you get is from the visits to the beach and trips to the local restaurants that your mama and papa take you too but then they're working today and can't spend too much time with you.
That bothers you.
Taking one more glance at the lifeless and dull toys, you set off slowly making your way downstairs to your parents.
"Oh? What are you doing down here, sweetie?" your mother Alcippe says moving away from the counter to pick you up at the foot of the stairway.
