Chapter 1

'Happy Birthday to you, you live in a zoo, you look like a monkey and you smell like one too!' my little brother sang as I blew out the 18 candles that sat a top of my birthday cake. Today I turn 18.

Just as I woke up I felt a large weight on my stomach.

'Oga get off me!' I told my cat as I brushed him off me. Oga is our ragdoll cat. He is extremely fat and eats alot. Some would say too much. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

'Good morning sunshine. I can't believe your 18 today. Wow!' My mum said as I entered. I smiled.

'I know. I'm so excited and only a week untill I move out and start my road trip with Mitch' Mitch is my boyfriend of 2 years and we planned on spending a year on the road.

I'm meeting Mitch at the park tonight and were ment to be having a romantic birthday dinner. I'm quite excited to see him. I feel my phone ringing through my pocket. It's Mitch.

'Hey Mitch. What's up?' I ask

'I just called to say I'm out the front'

'What? I thought you were coming at 6:30!' I said.

'Well, plans changed. I'm here now. Can I come in?'

'Yeah the doors unlocked' I told him. When he came in, he greeted me with a hug and a kiss.

'I missed you May' Everyone calls me May even though my names Melanie.

'I missed you too. I've just got to get dressed okay?'

'Alright then' he replied.

I walked down the stairs in a beautiful navy blue dress that went to just above my knee. I also had a black cardigan and black flats with a bow on them on. I had my light brown/dark blonde hair in a low right side ponytail.

'Oh my god'

'What's wrong? Do I look that horrible?' I asked worried

'No, no, no' he said quickly 'You look… perfect' he said accompanied with he's beautiful smile. I smiled. My cheeks felt red. I was blushing and i was blushing badly. Mitch walked over to where I was standing. He pulled me into an embrase. He kissed me and this wasn't just a little peck. This was a long deep kiss. I enjoyed every bit of it.
