Waiting

Part two of William! This will take place after the story.

Ashi was standing in the alleyway his voice moving to his partner, "Will, it looks a little tight. I've located the soul, you start the process, I'll guard." William nodded his head, both focused on getting the assignment done, as both were excited to have their nice day off.

"Very well. Don't do anything stupid." Ashi gave a small laugh as he turned his head, "I know, I know." Ashi had a large smile as he only had one tail out, William already starting to look at the records. This child's records were lengthy, most likely due to the child having a very detailed life. Ashi was about to comment something before a hungry growl sounded as something appeared before them, "Well well well, If it isn't a reaper and his pet." Ashi looked over as if he was bored as William glanced over his shoulder at the same demon they had came across twice before. Ashi had a smirk along his face noticing the healing scratches along the male's face, "Ah, Norton, Looks like a kiddy cut you up huh? Shame you can't even get easy prey."

"You should watch your mouth when talking to your superiors." Norton looked angry at the fact his name was revealed as Ashi gave a humorless chuckle, "If anything, I should say that to you. I mean, how many times have I sent you back to hell screaming for your demon mama?" Ashi was seen as he gently rolled his neck as it cracked in multiple places, his one tail changing into seven. William ignored the two demons challenging presence, it was clear Ashi had a much stronger 'aura' than Norton. Norton however, had a large grin on his face as he observed Ashi's posture, "You see, you shouldn't mouth off like that, not when I have people." Ashi paused as he noticed the multiple presences around him, as he looked at Norton, "So you're a coward?" Norton gave a chuckle as he looked smug, "Of course not. I just happen to follow my nature." Ashi looked irritated as he looked at Norton, "So? Was this a set up?" William had paused in his reaping as he observed Ashi's slow movement in front of William. Norton noticed as he gave a tch, "You know... why do you help things like him? How many would you have killed by now?"

"Don't let the pitiful attempts get you riled up Yoichi." William turned his back again collecting the reels again as Ashi hummed in response, as Norton chuckled, "Ah? So you listen to Reaper boy? How pitiful, you're such a weak demon. Maybe you'd be stronger if we got rid of the burden." Suddenly Ashi's hands changed into claws and his teeth sharpened, "Great, now Yoichi's going to cause a lot of clean up." William sighed as Ashi chuckled, his hands lighting a fire, "Alright Norton... this time~ I'm gonna kill you in front of your 'people' so they understand not to mess with me." Norton looked excited as he finally got Ashi angry, "Well well! Looks like I finally found your berserk button!" Ashi slowly walked to him, his tails fanning out making him look larger, "You'll regret saying that." Ashi instantly lunged at him, catching his throat in his fiery hands Norton only laughed as all nine of the demons around them began to attack Ashi. Ashi gave a snarl as one of them cut his ear, whipping around easily deflecting the attack before he saw Norton walking to William who was still reviewing the soul.

"Will! Look out!" Ashi lunged at William, blocking him from the attack as Ashi's ear was nicked and his cheek was bloody. William shouted surprised as Ashi kept his back to him causing him to be unable to see his injuries, "Ashi!" Ashi's voice became serious as he was demanding him, "Not now Will! The soul! Finish getting the records!" William nodded as he quickly began to finish the records as Ashi snarled and set fire to three demons nearby. Norton smiled as Ashi held his side as he realized he was bleeding much worse than he thought, "Well Well, looks like some one opened up an injury!" Ashi snarled at him before he grabbed Norton's neck, His eyes flashing as he growled out, "Looks like someone's going to die!" Ashi was suddenly jumped before someone else attacked the demons, white wings revealed themselves on the strange lady, "I'm tired of your filth being around here."

Loud snarls and growls sounded, blue lighting came and faded over and over as William finally finished. There was white feathers all along the ground, and yet no angel in sight, burned and other corpuses were all on the ground as William walked towards Ashi who had just finished wringing the last demon that didn't escape's neck. William gently touched his side as he calmly stated, "Yoichi." William's hand came back red as Ashi looked at him with a small pained smile, "Will..." William was astounded as Ashi fell into his arms, his blood staining the ground as William quickly called for backup, as he held his lover.

A few months later:

Ashi was finally allowed back to William and his home, his wounds mostly healed as Ashi was quite snappy with the last nurse he had. His cheeks were still tinted red as he silently fumed as William sighed loudly at the sight, "You must stop pouting, she had to lift your shirt to check the stitches." Ashi quickly growled out as his cheeks kept red, "It said I was in mating season! She shouldn't have touched me."

"You can relax now. I expect you to sleep when we get home." Ashi pouted as he stated, "Why won't you lay down with me?" William opened the door as Ashi wandered towards the bedroom, "I've told you. One of the list of rules is no physical contact during mating season." William observed the male pout as he entered the bedroom, "Then can I at least take off this stupid thing? It's embarrassing!" Ashi had some sort of cone around his neck, looking utterly defeated as he pouted, William could only chuckle, "No. You know you will try and mess with it." Ashi gave a noise of a wining child, "But my nose itches!!" William sighed as he walked over and scratched Ashi's nose, causing the demon to become less tense.

"Thank you William." William ignored the look Ashi was giving him as he told him to sleep, "You need to rest I've got somw work to do for now." Ashi pouted as he laid down grumbling about a papa being over cautious, but he instantly fell asleep. It took almost three weeks for the stitches to work, until they finally disolved. Ashi was finally alowed to have what he called, "The cone of shame," off his neck. William was actually looking over the shirtless demon observing the scar over another. Ashi never told him about the cause of that first scar, saying he would only make fun of him.

"Yoichi." Ashi was pulled out of his daze as he looked towards William, "Yeah?" William pushed up his glasses as he touched the scar that was much larger now, "Tell me what happened." Ashi looked to the side as he mumbed, "They are dead anyway, why ask?" William was tired of Ashi never answering him, "Yoichi," he firmly held his chin, "Tell me." Ashi sighed as he moved to the side, only a slightly painful groan echoed though his body, "You remeber Aberline, correct?" William nodded his head releasing Ashi and gently touching his hands to stop him from scratching. William then calmly added, "Gregory's five times great Grandfather, the police detictive." Ashi smiled proudly before he sighed, "He was almost killed, that day you took Lau's soul. I... I jumped in the way and shoved him away." William sighed softly as he nodded his head, "That was the one time you altered the To-Die list." Ashi looked surprised as he looked towards him, "I altered the list?" William nodded his head as he reflected upon the day, "I was preparing to harvest two souls that day, Lau's and Abberline's. However, upon checking the list again, your name was faintly written in replacement." Ashi looked surprised as he tilted his head, "I was on the list?"

"Yes... I found it odd, however your name was there. It appeared that your life was on a thread, and upon my arival, you had managed to pull through." Suddenly William flicked Ashi's nose, "Ow!" William chuckled as he sighed gently, "That was the only time I ever stretched a rule." Ashi smiled softly as he kissed William, who was shakking his head in a rare smile. Ashi knew something had to have happened, "I saw my life... You had thought it was best for me to live... didn't you?" William looked towards him, his normal pale color was becoming more red, "I did. If I hadn't then I'm afraid I'm not sure what I would do." Ashi had a small smile before he leaned closer and gently nuzzled his cheek, "Thank you."
