Philip sat on his couch, right next to the love of his life, Gracie Snow. They were newly weds, already enjoyed their honeymoon and living happily in Aspen City, his home. His villains were all safely contained by SHIELD, not anymore, and he was living the life he had hoped for. He was financially stable enough to finally work at Ennis Industries full time and not have to work at the Aspen Globe or any pizza places anymore. He was munching on popcorn, sharing some with Gracie as they watched one of their favorites movies. He had been finally recognized as a legitimate hero, even some negative reporters admitted that The Volt was someone who really did want to help others. He looked at her smiling, he felt great despite everything that happened in his life. He got up, yawning and looking at Gracie. "You're tired? Really? We're speedsters crazy" said Gracie before trying to put him back on the couch. "I was thinking we could go to dinner or at least a night out on the town" he said stretching as he fixed his hair. "That sounds nice, we haven't really been out to a real dinner since your little fiasco with Gaile like a month ago" she said. "Who cares about that? He's in SHIELD's maximum security prison along with the other rogues. Besides, I can safely speak for the both of us when I say that I'm hungry" he said smiling. He sped into nicer clothing, wearing a tie along with a nice buttoned up shirt. "Fair point, Mr. Olender" she said as she fixed his tie. "You're too cute, Mrs. Olender" he said, kissing her. She sped into a nice dress, showing off. "You never seem to amaze me, now let's go, I am starving. You can look pretty when we're eating seafood or maybe even steak, who knows?" He asked for her hand, taking it, the two of them raced off holding hands all around Aspen City. Their lightning trails were similar, however Philip's was more of a whiter color compared to her light blue lightning streak. Time stood still around them, they could only think about each other and the future they would share together. No matter what obstacles came in their way, they always had each other and that's why they always won their fights, not because of their powers, but because of their love and their impenetrable bond. He held her hand as they ran, quickly racing past monuments and tourist attractions in Aspen just to spice up the date. Gracie smiled as she looked at Philip, thankful for everything for the past 8 years.
They made their way to the Aspen City Seafood Eatery, one of the best, yet inexpensive places in Aspen. Even though he was The Volt and she was Velocity, the two of them weren't exactly fluid in terms of money. He walked inside, holding the door for her as they waited for their seats. Philip was anxious, he had an odd gut feeling in his mind, like something terribly wrong was going to occur. However, he brushed it off, choosing to enjoy the moment he had with her. The waiter escorted them to their seats, Philip moving the chair for Gracie. He took a seat shortly after, browsing through the menu. "Anything in particular you want? I feel like I could eat a horse, not literally of course" he smiled as he looked at her. "I mean the shrimp scampy doesn't seem to bad, it's funny that you decide to go to a seafood place cause you know that it's-." She was cut off by Philip, he finished her sentence, "your favorite kind of food", trust me I know, we're married after all. He laughed, flashing his ring at Gracie. She smiled, the waiter returning to the table. "What would you two like to order today?" Philip smiled, setting down his menu and looking at the waiter. "We'd like two shrimp scampys and some water", he winked at Gracie as he ordered. The waiter nodded, telling them to wait shortly. As the waiter left the two of them to be alone, he couldn't stop but stare at her beautiful blue eyes, they shined like diamonds to him. To think, he would spend the rest of his whole life with her. "You're so perfect, you know that?" he said as he smiled at her. "I'm just lucky to spend the rest of my life with you" he kissed her, she then looked at him. "And I'm so lucky that I managed to put up with you for 8 years" she laughed. The two of them were laughing, having an amazing time. Outside, the autumn evening was setting, leaves scrambling all across the streets with crystal clear skies.
