Chapter 8: On With Ellen

Chapter 8:

On With Ellen

*Natalie's POV*

I missjudged Josh, he wasn't the jerk that I thought he was. I'm so mad at myself for not listening to him, for being completely convinced that he was lieing. I'm just the type of person that can get easily convinced with anything, and once I have an idea in my head, there's no changing my mind. I guess I'm just stubborn.

I looked over at Josh and realized how much he was starting to mean to me. He's a pain at times but he's still been nothing but nice to me. It was around 4 and we were driving to the Ellen Show studio. Ellen is one of my favorite celebrities and the idea of getting to meet her drives me crazy!

"There's a space over there." I pointed to an empty parking space, hoping that Josh would see it before someone else took it. He spotted it and successfully parked his red Mustang.

"If she asks you anything that you don't wanna answer, just laugh and change the subject. It always works." Josh scowled as we got off the car. He walked over to me and reached for my hand.

"Are you sure?" I questioned Josh, leaving his hand dangling, unsure of what to do.

"I'm sure." He smiled and reached for my hand, making me grin at the thought that he didn't care that I wasn't famous. We quickly walked to the studio, stumbling upon huge groups of fans. Most of them just shot me dirty looks and one of them even cursed me out. So this is what Josh meant by overprotective fans!

"Josh, thank god your finally here! Come on, I need to get you ready." Josh's male styliest, Peyton, called as we walked inside the white and orange waiting lounge. It was so big! There was couches and coffee tables amd thousands of flowers decorating the bright room. The room was packed with people, making me wonder why there was so many. Suddenly, Josh let go of my hand and looked over at me.

"Natalie I gotta leave, go over there and sit with Jake, my manager." Josh pointed to a red couch where a middle aged, dark skinned man was reading a newpaper at. I nodded and walked over to the couch. When I was about to take off, I felt a pull on my arm. I quickly turned around and Josh's lips unexpectingly met mine. He quickly grinned and ran off to where Peyton was standing. I walked over to Jake with a stupid smile on my face thanks to Josh.

"Hi, I'm Natalie. I'm Josh's um friend." I quickly replaced my stupid smile with a friendly grin, hoping to make a good impression.

"Hello there! I'm Jake, it's great to finally meet the famous Natalie that Josh is always going on and on about! And I already know you guys aren't just friends so you don't have to lie." Jake confidently said as he put his newspaper down.

"Oh Josh talks about me? Since when?" I chuckled, looking at Jake's dark brown eyes.

"Oh you have no idea! So are you excited about meeting Ellen? Hey the show's about to start! Come with me." Jake quickly wandered off, forcing me to run after him. Fortunatly, he stopped and grabbed my wrist. He led me through hallways and we went through several doors. Finally we made it backstage. There was people everywhere, walking in every direction. There was people running back and forth, trying to fix microphones and audio equipment, there was stylists making last minute touch ups on their clients, and most importantly, it was Ellen! She was talking to some set people, complaining and pointing at the lights. Suddenly the music started and Ellen hurried off to the stage. The show started with an interview with Philip Philips, an American Idol winner. Then came 2 more interviews with some movie stars I have never herd about.
