Resting the last box into the trunk of your parent's car, you straighten your back, resulting in multiple cracks and pops from your back.

Moving homes wasn't the best choice your family had, the funeral parlor was doing just fine.

But with the discrimination your parents were facing lately, maybe it was best for them to revert back to that old humble town that was nothing but peace and wholesome.

'Man, monsters here really have it hard huh...' you thought to yourself.

Well, you aren't a fan of the humans in your town anyways, they were... rather snobbish and off-putting to you, you always chose to hid whenever a customer to comes in.

"Y/n dear, are you ready?" Your mother, calling you as she rummaged through her bag, making sure that none of her belongings are left behind.

With a hum, you turn to her as you closed the trunk of the car "oh, yeah, let me just get my backpack."

After snatching your belongings you and your parents get in the car, driving away from your house and the uneasy town.

"..mom.. are we.. staying at the old place again..?"

"What old place?" Your mom asked you, setting down her bag down on her lap.

"Ah you know.. the one we used to live when grandpa was still alive?"

"oh yes yes! Im surprised you still remember.."

That home.. it had belonged to you grandpa from your mother's side. Your family ran a family owned funeral parlor, and their first business started on that small town.

Your parents then had a proposal to branch out their business to other places which happily suceeded.

For the most part atleast, they were doing really well for the last decade, right until the past 5 years, the years where you became they're adopted child.

Ever since then, your step parents had faced discrimination for being... well, monsters. Humans took most of the town population, so if there would be any monsters, your parents and a few other -who chose to stay hidden- would be the only ones.

As of recently, your mother has had the last straw and decided to move back to the town you used to stay for vacation, the hatred filled words was all tolerable for your parents until some prick decided to commit a hate crime by interrupting your dad who was performing a funeral ritual.

You leaned to your side against the car window, wondering what your life would be like there, you remember that you made a few friends there when you were younger.

'wonder of they still remember me..??'

...with doubt in your mind, you pursed your lips.

'nah.. no way, it's been like 5 years, no way that they would remember someone like me, i was at they're life for like.. a quick second.'

Without much thinking, a yawn had escaped your lips as your eyes felt heavy as well.

'Sleepy.. already..' you silently hummed, pulling out your earphones you plugged them into your phone and listened to some of the music in your playlist, slowly yet comfortably drifting off to slumber.
