Sketch opens her eyes tiredly. Ceddy is still asleep but Ness is awake on her phone.
"Hey, about time," she says. "Come on or we'll be late!"
"Late for what?" Sketch mutters.
"You forgot?! You're so forgetful Sketch, it-"
Ceddy opens his eyes suddenly and jumps up.
"POKEMON DAY!!" He screams as he scrambles to get dressed.
"Obviously." Says Ness, a little annoyed. Sketch gets out of bed quickly and puts on blue shorts and a purple top, her messy golden hair tangled from sleeping. The three of them quickly put on their shoes and leave. Ness is walking ahead,
"Come on guys, Ced you look dead."
Sketch looks over at Ceddy, Ness was correct, he looked like he never slept. As they arrive at the Pokémon laboratory Ceddy looks a little more lively.
"Good morning Ness, Ceddy, Sketchy," says an older voice. "How are you three?"
"We-" Sketch begins,
"We're amazing professor!" Ness cuts across. Sketch lets Ness do the talking.
"We're here for our first Pokémon?"
"Ah yes, here you are." Says the professor. "Take any one you'd like."
Ceddy goes forward but Ness reaches past him, for the Pokéball labelled "Litten". Ness throws the ball and a small, flaming kitten is suddenly standing next to her feet, she squeals as she kneels down to befriend it. Ceddy goes next, he seems to be going between two different Pokémon but eventually he settles for one labelled "Piplup" and sends it out. His jaw drops and he smiles. Next it's Sketch's turn and she is unsure on which to pick.
"Uh- Treeko? Or.. Squirtle? I don't know... Cyndaquil...?"
Eventually she settles for Treeko. She throws the ball and the small gecko- like Pokémon pleases her. It suddenly jumps up which startles her, and perches on her shoulder.
"Are you three happy with the Pokémon you chose?" The professor smiles.
"Yes" they say in unison.
"Off you go then, OH WAIT, take these."
He handed the three kids a small device that was a bright red.
"Is this a Pokédex?" Mumbles Ceddy.
"Correct, you know how to use them?
"Yes"
"Ok then, off you go"
"Thank you!" They say in unison.
As they're walking out, they see another kid, he has his hands in his pockets, they think nothing of it and leave to route 1.
"Here we are," Says Ceddy confidently. "Let's go!"
