Before we start I'd like to say thank you for choosing to read this book. Means a lot fr fr

But also please note that the book will take place in a couple of days, a Month at most but time will be sped up when its really not necessary to over days so there won't really be any 'filler' chapters.

Also please mind any spelling errors or stuff that you find, I got excited when I opened up the draft and just wanted to publish it -_- so I will be going over it eventually, but you could also help by commenting where you see an error, thanks in advance.

The blinding sunlight poured through the parting of my curtains, illuminating my room.

I groaned and rolled over , pulling the covers over my head simultaneously

What time was it even? and why hasn't my alarm rang yet... actually, why hasn't my mother come to yank the covers off my body?

I sit up abruptly and let my eyes wander around my room before landing on my alarm clock flashing 07:15 on it.

Shit

I leap out of my bed and take a few steps to my shower before gracefully tangling my legs in my blanket and falling face first on the floor.

The 'oof' sound wasn't pleasant either, but I was running late for school and I literally had only 15 minutes to get showered and dressed if I wanted to make it there on time.

I finally made it to my bathroom and i jerked the shower water on and barely made it to the sink in tact.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror and my coffee brown eyes stared right back at me.

My brown skin shined gracefully and my lips were pulled tightly together. Yeah, I really need a shower. I shook my head lightly and my hair started falling out of the messy bun I pulled my hair into last night. I sighed and grabbed my toothbrush and smeared toothpaste on it before remembering that i probably have 9 minutes before I have to leave.

When I was done, I hopped into the shower and showered as fast as I could, making sure every important bit was thoroughly washed.

I ran out of the shower, barely holding my towel together rushing to the door.

My hand had only touched the door knob when the door burst open and hit me right in my face and a voice going

"Oops"

------------------

I was currently seated on the kitchen counter with an ice pack on my forehead and staring at Xavier who was just staring right back at me. I was dressed at least , Xavier had picked out my clothes for me. Rolled up baby blue boyfriend jeans and a white shirt

He had set my white low cut airforces on the table and I just wish i could reach for them and smack him right in the head with one.

Being Xavier's best friend was the toughest job I never really signed up for. The fact that he's been labelled the schools bad boy didn't help his case either, because he's actually a really great guy once you get to know him...great when he's not slamming doors on your face that is. But maybe I'm just saying that because we've been friends since diapers.

Apparently our moms had somehow swapped strollers while at the park one day and turns out, they live two doors down from our house. I can only imagine Xavier's moms shock when she found a very much brown baby staring right back at her when she looked into the stroller.

Speaking of moms, where's mine?

Confusion flooded my mind as it dawned on me that the house had been really quiet and there wasn't even a sign that my mom was in the kitchen and made food for herself, let alone breakfast for us.

"Did you see my mom on your way-" I started but Xavier shook his head no before I could even finish my sentence

That's strange , I thought-

"Actually, my mom wasn't at home either" he told me.

I pulled my face before coming to the conclusion that they could actually be together

"Neither is my little brother" he spoke softly

"Your mom probably just took him to school" I said nonchalantly

" I thought that too but I think there's something weird going on. I went to school and saw you weren't outside like you usually were every other day, so I wanted to check your locker, but the school was empty. The hallways, the cafeteria—everything was abandoned, almost as if they just disappeared," he finished, his voice tinged with unease.

"Dissappeared?" I asked starting to feel more confused

"Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention but as far as i'm concerned, you're the only other person I've seen since the day started"
